My other half got some (10) and several were so dead they were rotten, most didn't grow. I think two actually grew. Waste of time/effort. Cold if they are mostly like that, unless someone else can share their experience?

Ill second that, any bulbs ive got from poundland have produced zilch.

I've had great success with trees and roses from Poundland. Bulbs I usually get from J Parker, but they are now overpriced.

Does the packaging allow you to look at the bulbs? If they looked decent, I would give them a try!

Sorry to be a pedant, but these are spring bulbs

To be planted in autumn for spring you numpty! That'll teach you pedant!

Great, thanks for posting. I'll be making a bee line down to Poundland. I don't have any pound shops near me and I have been waiting for these. Last Friday I went to a 99p shop and they didn't have stock yet and the staff said they don't know what's coming until they arrive. I bought wonderful Hawera miniature daffodils at a 99p store last year and they were absolutely fantastic. Worth looking out for.

You can check them. They have perforated plastic type packaging so the bulbs can breathe. The You can feel if any individual bulbs are squishy (rotten) or too light/dry (dead). I have had success from the small bulbs like Tete a Tete (Poundland) and Hawera (99p) but some of the speciality tubers sold at the same time were a waste of time.

Sorry but you are wrong. Bulbs are named based on the season they flower, not when they are planted.

all the summer flowering bulbs I bought last year from poundland grew well and flowered, had some hyacinths last year that where ok.

will buy some more bulbs next time I visit poundland.

wouldn't buy any snow drops though as ive been told that if they dry out they wont grow.

I bought gladioli earlier this year and I got the surprise of my life I planted them in a spot in the garden where I don't look every day and at the beginning of august lo and behold beautiful red & white gladioli, a whole row of them! So I would give it a go if you are considering buying any bulbs. You can look at them through the pack.

there you go pedants, cant moan at the title now.

Went to my local the other day, not much left now

I made a trip to Hounslow today because we don't have any Poundland or 99p stores near us, and they had practically sold out of bulbs so avid gardeners may not to wait too long. They only had a few packets of mixed daffodils and allium left. The 99p store in Hounslow has no spring bulb stock this year and is removing the remaining gardening items to make way for Hallowe'en tat.

Some sod has bought the entire box of Crocus... before me lol bargain price for 20 crocus a pack of 100 will set you back at least £8 online
