I watched a tv programme few months ago on poundland. It mentioned they are launching a new chocolate bar called “twin peaks”

this was the original post - posted in june by @newbold

Well poundlands own version of tolberone to launch instore on monday 4th december

I popped in this afternoon to get my daughters packed lunch items and the staff were discussing it at the till. I asked them when it will be going on sale.

Apparantly it arrives in store this week and launches monday 4th december

If the peaks been taken off that means less chocolate. Cold for me

How can the peaks have been taken off if thats what the item is about. Its a 180g bar - 30g more than a tolberone.

Why dint you actually contribute to this site and post a deal rather than be negative.

But if you can get a toblerone for £1 why would you buy poundlands own version??

Because theres 30g more chocolate

The funny thing is you can get a decent size Toblerone for £1 in most shops , why buy the cheap crap for a few grams more !

I didnt even know there was a lawsuit regarding this. Looks like they lost. But can sell 500,000 units this christmas

google.co.uk/amp…bar

It’s not going to be as good, is it

Here's the new packaging. The original packaging (underneath)
was a clear copy of Toblerone.

Ah I wondered what happened to these bars after seeing them onTV. Anyway Aldi used to do a decent Toblerone copycat that unforuntely disappeared, I wonder if this will be any good.

Yeah I think the Aldi one was called Manhatten and tasted really good

I'm hoping this is a damn fine chocolate.

I see these being 1/2 the price if not less after Christmas.

Love toblerone, cannot wait to try this one to taste the difference

Yep, it was really nice. Hopefully they'll get it back this Christmas!

Poundland can sell the 500,000 they made, they will then do a redesign in the new year.

500,000 bars won't last very long. Better grab one quick on 6 December if you want one

I think it was called Matterhorn after the mountain in the Alps

They look like camels toes. Count me in! I can pretend I'm playing Journey with each piece.

LOL, that is blatant! They might as well have called it Toberclone while they're at it.

Nice marketing by Poundland to ensure these get gobbled up quickly.

For my purposes the things I find useful in Poundland:
- Iron Starch spray
- Bog Roll
- Kitchen Roll
- Blu Rays
- Star Wars memorabilia
- Smints
- Halloween items

Everything else I can get at other stores cheaper or at least with points like shaving foam, shower gel, and chocolates.

I would advise everyone to avoid their DIY sections. The screw drivers are rubbish.

Given that these have been sitting in a warehouse for some months pending the outcome of the legal action, you do have to wonder what state they're in now!

I don't understand it either why buy 180g of likely horrible chocolate vs 150g of chocolate people like.

I'm not mad they decreased the Toblerone bars from 180g to 150g. I think that 150g that's still good value compared to what they sell in the supermarkets. Who buys those?

Still these people have no shame they're always decreasing the size of products and then blame Brexit when they were doing it long before.

Waiting for the 4.5kg version.

Just FYI, they used to be 170g before the recent down-sizing.

I've never seen these in mine (though I know there was a recent bust up with Toblerone over the packaging)..maybe that's why, I assume it got delayed!

I have tried some of their own brand chocolate and it's been pretty poor but will give it a go
