I'm somewhat annoyed by this as I already paid extra when it was first released for what I thought was going to be the only limited edition (steelbook) version. I thought the only other version they would release would be the 3D enabled version - but then they come out with this extended version

PS - at time like this we could do with a proper angry looking smiley...

Like it needs extending ... my butt gets numb watching the one previously released

do not buy this, wait for the extended, picture enhanced 3D Version that comes with a life size mind controlled pandorian and Mech Suit.

The first vserion makes most use of the space on the disc, the extra footage will cause more compression. If you notice these things that is.

There will always be 'another edition'! Trying to buy an ultimate collectors edition is increasingly hard. Whilst all the while dvds are on the way out. Just look at how their prices have dropped, whilst people realize watching Sky+ in HD is as good as BlueRay. Who needs discs as it will soon be wireless straight to your HD by the telly, and you'll simply subscribe (or pirate) your content via the internet, as indeed you can now.

If you had done your research properly when they released the edition earlier in the year then you'd have known there was another edition being released for Xmas. Hence the reason I waited.

I agree, it was pretty common knowledge at the time so I'm another one that waited, if you want this one more than the version you have then sell the steelbook - they make decent prices on ebay anyway

You're making assumptions without knowing what's on each disc of the new 3 blu-ray disc version as opposed to 1 blu-ray & 1 DVD.

There are 2 versions of the new one on Amazon.com, neither has more than an extra quarter of an hour's footage on the main disc which is hardly going to destroy the quality of the picture with any extra compression that MAY be needed.

All the extras including the 45 minutes of deleted footage are on the other discs
