Was with Plusnet for years, until 2020. Had 2 years of constant issues with broadband. Had to contact ombudsman in the end to sort. Customer service nai on non existent and just return to the obligatory "we will do a test on your line" had the same test run probably 100 times despite evidence of issues from these tests. When it was working speed was ok. Have now changed to shell and as yet have had no issues.

I have been with them for 17 years and have found customer services superb. They have been good from a loyalty point of view and issues have been dealt with promptly. Most connection issues are problems with old and legacy components at the exchange which is Openreach's domain.

I’m trying to get this deal, when I get to the point where they are asking “we couldn’t find and active line” check your phone line?

I got Sky broadband with phone line. Very confused here.

Not a great start that it refuses to find any details based on my postcode and telephone number - gives a sorry message. Shame as seems a good deal but not a good omen if their site won't find deals unlike competitors.

Had constant issues with Plusnet in my old house. They were rubbish at resolving any problems too as if it requires Open Reach to visit (which it probably will) they seem to have a terrible contract with Open Reach where queries and callouts are put to the back of the queue.

It was often a case of 'they'll be there to take a look between 9 and 6pm'. I'd ask if I needed to be in for the visit and they always said yes. Not once did OpenReach ever knock the door, they just fiddled with the box in the street.

The only good customer service I had was retentions when I told them I was leaving - but I'd had enough by that point!

Saying all this, I'm with Virgin Media now and they're terrible too!

I've been a happy plusnet customer for over 10 years however they're not able to currently offer fibre to the premises if you're looking at that option. It's supposedly coming in 2022 (they said the same in 2021!)

I've come to the conclusion that every ISP is terrible and excellent, depending on who you talk to. I will never recommend any ISP for that reason

Honestly thought this was the case with us originally. Had openreach out twice and they said all working. Changed network and working fine. Which only leaves me with one possible problem, and that was Plusnet themselves.

I was with Plusnet until recently. I got an email from them that I was moving provider and leaving them. Someone either put in my address by mistake, or Vodafone did (They were the ones trying to take over the line). I rang to say it was a mistake and they told me no problem we'll advise Openreach. They didn't and I lost my phoneline, vodafone ended up being was activated in my house.

When i rang them to complain, they told me that there's nothing that they could do. If i wanted to stay with them I'd have to sign up as a new customer at the new higher price and start a new contract. They told me that Vodafone took over my line and that I would have to phone them to get them to release the line as well (which took over an hour with them).

I'm also now in a fibre rollout area, so when i got vodafone to release the line i couldn't just get broadband again, i have to get an engineer out to install it. Started a new job and was supposed to be working from home, instead i'm in a satellite office and have to commute now.

Customer service is actually pleasant and you can get through to them quick enough, but what's the point if they don't do something so important as this. I am also a mobile customer of theirs, and when i changed my data allowance due to having no internet at home, it reset the adult filter. Rang them to get that fixed and again they told me it would be sorted, didn't do it. And since it takes 2 hours their office was closed when i realised that they hadn't done it.
When i made a complaint, i was awarded £150 compensation. Told that i would have it in 10 working days. That didn't get sent either.

It's probably a very niche issue but completely was fundamental the service. But take what you will from that.

You might be in a fibre to premises rollout area and they don't off that.

Rang to get a deal and was offered £23 pm plus £100 cashback, for fibre plus, great i thought, but when I received the contract, I saw that base cost is £43.50 discount by £20.50, costing a net £23 per month, however I expect Jan CPI to be nearer 6%, so with the 3.9% loading, its will be nearly 10% price increase on the base price, so April onwards the cost will be £27, CSR pretended ignorance, but in the end he couldn't deny it. Something to be weary of when dealing with Plusnet and other providers.

Terrible company, customer service is atrocious , I was quoted different early termination rates by different people , spoke to numerous cs agents no one rang me back , I was told case on hold, then it went to debt collection agent , furious with them
