Just found this while looking for a game capture device for my son. Seems good and has solid reviews!

It has HDMI passthru and full 1080p capture.

Out of curiosity if you have a Xbox one or ps4 is there any need for this as share play can do same???

got this, had constant problems with Avermedia, when it works its good but compared to the Elgato which I had no problems with.

Needs a PC or Mac to save video

I thought the PS4 could record gameplay anyway?

It can but it's only 720p

These are ok, if your in the market for a good cap card then elgatos are superb.
This card has been this price for a while, heat added though

The quality of the built-in recordings isn't very good. I have no idea of the quality of recordings this product is capable of but, as INDUSTRYHATER says, the Elgato is great, albeit a lot more expensive.

The other advantage is that editing on a PC is much better than console.

I'll let you know when my son receives it tomorrow!

Got this for my son and paid £80 ish and it's very good quality recording (also records voice which a lot of cheaper options do not plus live streaming apparently) and very easy to set up with the software on windows. Downside is yes it does require a pc to be running to record but they do a version which does not but last time I checked the price it was about the same as some of the premium brands

I have bought this after seeing this post, thanks OP!!

Great bit of kit for £60, real bargain. I'm just in the process of using this on my PS4, and it's great so far.

I did have some difficulty setting this up, Windows didn't recognise the device properly. Avermedia support was useless, Google saved the day though. I had to download a previous driver version from the release history section on the download page of the Avermedia website. Now it's working a treat, great item for the price, shame about the support.

ReviewTechUSA uses this and absolutely loves it, and the big red button.

damn this is tempting lol being able to record the full 1080p & smooth 60fs for just £60 .... must ... resist
