This will get cold because people can get this for free. However, the people who pay are probably the reason why the rest can get it for free

As far as I can see the AVG Internet Security is a paid
for product. The AVG Anti-virus is free. There are
differences.
I have used AVG for years with no problems. At present I
use the Internet Security product listed above. It costs
peanuts for the great protection it gives and I think this
offer is excellent. Voted hot. Happy Christmas to adeo
and Pet2000.

AVG is the best and as mentioned its free so your paying for the USB.
ps If you havent used AVG you need to get a free download ASAP

All free from here

Had AVG before and it slowed my computer down no end. I use Microsoft Security Essentials (free) and SpyBot (also free).

a year ago I helped someone remove this from their laptop because it slowed to a crawl after installation.

have things improved ?

AVG Internet Security is a different product to AVG FREE Antivirus.

Usually £44.99 from AVG.com

You are correct, AVG Internet Security program is not free, but if you get the modules separately, you will get them for free. A personally dont like AVG and use Avast, but this is a different matter. Happy Holidays to you too.

WRONG ON ALL COUNTS!

AVG free not even the best of the free AVs, its bloated horrible crap now. voted a step in the wrong direction by PC Pro mag.
and this version is the full security suite, not the same as the free basic one.

if yer gonna pay for security, get a decent one like Esets NOD32 or Kaspersky.
if yer that much of a tight git that you wont fork out a few quid ONCE A YEAR, or its all about the principle of not paying for software cos you can get a free sample version with less features on, don't use AVG!

91% detection rate
59% removal.....
very very poor.

I think you are overstating PC Pro's position, which at
pcpro.co.uk/rev…011
actually states: "For that reason AVG remains our preferred free security package, but with a warning: this is a step in the wrong direction."

If there was a perfect/remains-perfect/suits-everyone protection product(s) then it would be a simple choice!

MKD

its free for a reason. its crap.
the figures from Wilders prove it.

Not crap so no "end of". Please read PC Pro reviews.
They say it is the best of the free programs. But others
think differently and have their own preferences. It is
good to have choice so please don't just say "end of"

the figures speak for themselves and PC pro's review is just the opinion of a writer.

if AVG free was so good, why not sell it?
cos its a basic limited security software which acts as a sample prog for the paid for premium version.
its a marketing tool.

certainly agree its good to have choice, but even the magazine said the current version of the software is heading in the wrong direction.

check out wilders security forums for more good choices.
better than AVG free

nearly 6 years on and found one of these £2.99 2010 USB pen drives tucked away that for reasons I don't recall now I never used. Input its AVG activation code into their site and it gave me the latest software to download however it didn't go on to activate immediately but late at night on a bank holiday weekend AVG's helpline sorted it within a few minutes. So nearly 6 years later 2 licences for £2.99 and a USB stick - which may be why I'd bought it in the first place lol. Bravo AVG!
