Absolutely brilliant tyres - best I ever experienced. Nothing comes close in the wet weather in my humble opinion.....

Just be cautious with your alloy wheels, they take no responsibility if they mark them during fitting - I found out the hard way.

My tyre say 205/60, what difference this would make?

47429534-L3FRM.jpgMight be worth telling your insurance that you're running slightly out of spec tyres.

For what it's worth, got these on my MK8 1.8 Civic and they've started cracking within an year/10k miles. (edited)

Had these all round on an MR2. Summer grip was great (and wet grip, though usually backed off with it being mid engined).

But, despite the car largely being garaged and only having covered ~5000 miles since fitting in 3 years, there are cracks emerging in between the tread blocks. Seems quite a common issue online.

I also found that the Avon ZZ5s I had on the Mini were prone to awful blocking noise as they wore, I ditched all four and went for Michelin PS4. Appreciate it's a different model from the same brand so experience of the ZZ5 may not be as relevant as the ZV7 on the mr2 (edited)

It is a big lie. Tyres before this deal was much cheaper. For example 225 45 r17 before £65 After £77. You can still save some money but only £12(if you buy 4 tyres) not £64 as they trying to lie you.

Not a bad deal. 245-45-19 come out at £113.40 (with Lloyds 10% cashback for me), how long is the offer on for??

Found it - We’re offering our retail customers who purchase two or more Avon Tyres, between 4th May 2022 to 30th June 2022

    Quidco at 3%!!!
    TCB at 4.4%!!! (edited)

Same here with wheel damage at ATS, they dont take care.

Have used these tyres, grip absolutely fine but they wear out quickly and the tread goes a funny shape near the end of the life - same car but with Michelin Primacy had no issues/with shape/longer life - worth paying extra

Yes, that's wrong. Not end of the world but it may affect the way water gets pushed away. Once you've spotted something like that though, you'll never forget it.

Really odd they've done that, my local ATS (Garston, Liverpool) is spot on. (edited)

Not tried but it's an all season, meaning it'll work across both winter and summer.. bit of a compromise on both though.

Not in my experience. They photographed each alloy before working on them to make sure any new marks were their resposibility.

Midrange. One of the best in the wet. Few reports of cracking after 10,000 miles. I got too fronts but on for £200 225/35/19 as you can see very low profile already had 3 new fronts in 18 months due to potholes. ATS pointed out my shock was also leaking but didn’t hard sell a repair, the Basingstoke manager is really nice he did the mot too and was very honest. Can’t fault them.

Don't know what kind of Continental tyres did you fit, or maybe they just haven't been fitted correctly...

Those Avon's are lower mid-range tyres, nowhere near the premium ones...

Pretty decent grip but as others here mentioned they don't last very long if you drive in the same way as you would with the premium tyres.

Problem with durability/quality of those tyres is quite well known online, but it's typical for lower mid range (like Kormoran, Debica, Matador, etc.).

Good price on these but wouldn't really pay more... It should be and usually is regular price.

In my experience typical Avon's normally last about half of the mileage of the premium ones like Continental or Pirelli.
And as for the grip, quietness, etc... no comparison with the premium brands (edited)

    You probably kerbed them then.

If you’re going to troll, at least put some effort in, yeah?

They were brand new replacement wheels in 2018 (the sea air had trashed the original diamond cut ones). Had brand new tyres fitted by a local firm, they took their time, not a windy gun in sight when securing the wheels back on the car.

Absolutely mint when they went to ATS and all four came back with inner edge damage caused through levering against the tyre, and swirling in the bolt holes caused by use of an air gun. Kerbing wheels would damage the face instead.

I didn’t chase it because of the time lapsed and frankly, I’m not a mechanic and only do brakes/suspension/simple engine work myself -
I don’t have access to or experience of what they use to remove tyres. But can fully sympathise with others who’ve experienced similar issues with fast fit chains.

I had some tyres fitted and ATS marked my alloys too. I had only had mine powrdecoated about 6 months before fitting.
I too only noticed after about a week once I washed the sealant off the wheels / tyres
ATS took liability no problem, said if there was any more damage let them know and they'll get it sorted. (edited)

My wife's citroen also has cracking between tread! Must been 3 years old /5k miles.

So bad we had advisory on all 4x tyres for cracking. Tread is actually not bad.

But at £50 a corner it's actually not too bad, I could spend that on some budget ditch finders and find the treadwear dangerously worse!

I put some michelin PS5 on mine. Phenomenal tyre, would be wasted on my wife's citroen...

A reputable fitter does an alloy wheel report pointing out any marks prior to even touching your wheels these days, in my experience. Covers both parties.

I've got a pair of these on my car, had them on for less than 1 year, and they are also cracking in the tread grooves. Hoping it doesn't effect the MOT next month.
I need 2 more, and won't be getting these again.

You are correct, thats how it should be - that's why I don't use them anymore .....
Like most companies these days you are not allowed in the workshop area, due to health and safety, to watch them unfortunately - so it then becomes a battle of one word against another.
