Been after these for a while. Saw the price had dropped another £10 so bit at this price.

When I went to collect from the Leicester store the guys there hadn't realised they had dropped again either.

Just got them home and working with my Cambridge XS DAC and they are AMAZING. I've only seen them this price on ebay (shipping from France which I wasn't best pleased with) so this was a no brainer,

If you are after a quality set of headphones for home then look no further.

Thanks for viewing and have a very Merry Christmas my fellow HUKDers!

Nice heat. Looking for something for the TV atm with a transmitter and optical lead. Figured I'd post in here in case any audiophiles know any good deals going. Something like the RS175s.. X)

No bluetooth options? I would prefer it to RF.

No BT on the TV. Just optical oO

I bought these 3yrs ago from richer sounds for only £10 more so for me it's nice to see they've held value. Be warned these cans are very big so not really ideal for using them out and about (much more suited to a home environment)...
Because of that I then purchased the Audio Technica ATH-M50X, these are equally as good regarding sound quality with a little more bass (plus a much better size for wearing outside) and I've never looked back since.
With both sets being closed back means they barely leak any sound at all meaning everyone around you won't be annoyed and can hear what you're listening too

I would be tempted to give this a go with some nice BT headphones.

Thanks that worth noting for everyone, hence my recommendation as a home set of headphones. I've come from a set of Goldring NS-1000 so feel this is a nice step up and works well with my Cambridge XS. Will give them a whirl with my HiFi later.

Shame about the non-detachable cable.

Well that's a no deal surely? All good headphones should have detachable cable?

Any idea what the MK.2 version improvements are? I have the AKG551 with a mic, outstanding headphones.

Yes, all £100 headphones that can be ruined by breaking a £3.50 cable are poor deal.

Didn't get on with these personally. Far too neutral sounding, just felt they lacked punch. Really good if you want to appreciate every little detail but I like the sound to be a bit more fun. Also, don't even bother if you wear glasses... it opens up the seal slightly and makes them sound even more flat.
Like bazinga I went for the ATH M50's and haven't looked back.

While not ideal it's fairly easy to change the cable on many sets of headphones.

They look superbly comfortable!

Glad to hear that.. 8). I got the model down from the ATXS so i am pleased they hold up to these too. Identical except the detachable cable which can be made detachable with a mod.

Don't get them if u like bass

Why not the M40's?

Bass......bluedio u plus (ufo) pro. After hours of researching all kinds of closed back headphones I'm now awaiting my delivery of them. Audiophiles might like to slate them due to the amount of bass they produce, but from my research they're very clear and crisp and the bass does NOT produce muddy sounds....They're wireless and also have 6 drivers per ear. Was going originally for the seinnheiser momentum 2....and now I have gambled!

I can certainly vouch for that having just completed a 2 hours listening session.

That's why I sold mine, decent mids but nothing happens in the lows..

Same here. Absolutely zero bass.. Was very surprised and disappointed

Just a warning to everyone, these are very Neutral, there is not an ounce of Bass with them, so if you are wanting to listen to anything Dance/Trance/Rock look else where, I tried these as a colleague in work has them and he does a lot of classical music listening for that they are superb, I hated them and opted for the Audio Technica ATH-M50, They are basically AKG 550's with Bass in a smaller package and im very impressed with them

Neutral shouldn't mean no bass. It means there's no colouring or emphasized frequencies. An extreme bass rolloff is something extra.

I think the best advice is to audition them with your own ears with the music you prefer. I listen to rock and trance and these are good to my ears. Its very subjective.
