Amazing little ukuleles! There are loads of colours to choose from, start the new year by learning a new hobby!

This store may not be the cheapest (so please no comments like "It's cheaper here, durr!") but is very close and has a great reputation! Prices start at £13.99 but most colours are £14.99. Delivery to my address was £4.99 AND YOU GET FREE PITCH PIPES!

The Mahalo 2011 Ukulele has achieved fantastic recognition & success of late with their high quality entry level range of Uke's, absolutely ideal for any budding player!

Suitable for beginners of any age, this Ukulele offers a wonderful introduction to the instrument that is Sweeping through schools across the country!
For years children have almost naturally taken up the recorder or violin at school, however this is now being challenged by budding young Ukulele players! Thousands of schools up and down the country are reporting the Ukulele as a huge success in classrooms!

Enjoy

DITTO

Price in post should be "£19.88" as postage is £4.89.

Normans are a massive company who supply all the schools so you can trust them, even though they are despised within the music industry as they get these contracts and the music shop local to the school gets nothing.

This is the going rate for these ukes In any music shop so it's not a deal.

Also, you would be better off spending an extra five to ten quid on a makala or similar uke as the strings that come with these take forever to stretch in enough to stay in tune. The better strings are usually BLACK

If you got this uke, you would almost certainly need to buy a better set of strings (around a fiver) and still end up with an inferior uke .

I work in a music shop and we have sold these and have probably tuned and handled almost a thousand of these cheap ukes last year

Normans are a huge company. I used them for all our school instruments and accessories when I was music co-ordinator.

I bought a Makala Uke the other day for £25 off eBay, apparently it has a much better sounds and stays in tune longer than the Mahalo so if you're getting it as a starter, sources lead me to suggest the Makala range. Dolphin ones are the best for this class.

In other news: youtube.com/wat…m5k

I started with one of these about four years ago and have since bought them as presents for people for much less than this so cold from me. I've not lookd up prices to see what they are currently at but not a hot deal at all. I agree about spending £10-£15 extra for better quality though a big difference for little investment.

Fun instrument, however my local music shop had these in the window. They were £17.99, so check out your local music store as i'm sure they will be no more than £20

when i wanted to learn to play one years ago, you couldn't get one for love nor money. I ended up learning the banjolele (more like george formby!)

IDIOTS!

Yes i'm pretty sure they sell them for less then £20 in our local store, so cold from me

I play the uke - These ones arern't much good at all, awful sound and out of tune too quickly. Like another poster said, it's worth paying the extra and getting something like a Makala. Black strings aren't necessarily the best either, as someone else posted. The strings of choice for a lot of uke players are made by aquila and the ones I've always had have been white.

Looks like peeps now opening their eyes before voting !

How come this has made it to the Hot list at just 36 degrees?

It got to about 110 degrees and hit the front page before people realised it wasn't such a great deal and started voting cold.

I guess it stays on the front page once it has made it there.

The last similar thread that I remember was the Amazon Black Friday one, which went from about 1000 degrees to minus 300 once people realised it was a load of old gubbins. I do enjoy this forum.

How about some respect for a great artist who has passed away?

That's the first song I think of whenever I hear the work 'Ukulele'.

As previously said Normans are on most local authorities contracted supplier lists as they offer a decent price/quality ratio.

Spam.

Pointless crap post, I have a suggestion of where you could stick your Amazing little ukuleles
