Bit niche...
Ran out of clamps on my last project. Been searching for some clamps, umming and arring on cheapo ebay vs some 'bang for buck premium' clamps. Decided to go for these as they were around 50% off and they're forged metal. Apparently better?Certainly harder to find forged clamps anyway.

These Axminster Trade F clamps come fitted with hardened Acme threads for quick adjustment and high load capacity. Both jaws feature glue resistant, plastic caps to protect your work. The swivelling pad allows for clamping slightly tapered pieces and the top protector has a V groove to help clamp round objects. Workshops can get damp from time to time, this is why all Axminster Trade Clamps are passivated chrome finished to aid against corrosion.

Active clamping
Active clamping is when a forged steel clamp maintains its pressure, regardless of the condition of the timber. For example, if a piece of timber with a relatively high moisture content were to be clamped in a warm workshop for an extended period, there’s every chance that it would shrink. As the timber contracts, the force applied to it will remain constant as the forged clamp frame will actively move with the timber. Conversely, the pressure applied with a standard drop forged clamp will decrease as the timber shrinks.

Lifetime guarantee.
These clamps come with a Lifetime Guarantee, should they fail at any time due to a material or manufacturing defect we will replace them free of charge.

I also bought 2x of these @ £8.99,
Axminster Trade Clamps Ductile Cast F Clamp 400x80mm as they were about 60% off.

In the title and them explaining why forge matters (apparently) in description. The other link does not have this description. The cast iron is the arm.

Think Axminster in general aren't that specific on every detail (ie what type of steel is it, how hard the rating is for forged, or even how much lighter its supposed to be etc, does it matter? I don't know...) but they have good service/support.

The bar has been forged and not cast, As compared to the Ebay one, with both ends cast. It shouldn't matter - the torque that can be achieved by the wooden handle is very limited. As these are generally used to hold things in position whilst glue sets, that's putting hell of a strain on a glue joint when released, if you are worrying about the jaws breaking.
