Great price for a tidy little motherboard. Few different deals on eBay so bows a perfect time to build a medium end gaming pc.

No it's not. Need to put voucher "PARTY" to get that price.
Ah thanks!!
Ordered, seems to be a good budget choice for a new Ryzen build.

Apparently easy to upgrade bios without an existing chip and also seemingly has a reasonable vrm.

Might end up cheaper on prime day, but camelcamelcamel has never shown it going below this price.

Worth mentioning there only seemed to be 10 in stock, 4 already gone so might need to buy quickly if want to get it at this price.

The msi gaming plus is also available for slightly less.

Really struggling to resist waiting for prime day, I also can't see this going much cheaper

I'm feeling exactly same thinking of just getting this one

Gaming plus is tidy. I got this last ebuyer / eBay sale. Came with free games and bios update was super simple.

This is also a great option for the new cpus. Bought off amazon for £115 the other day which was the best price I could find! So £98 is a steal imo. You get Wifi, bluetooth and a few extras compared to the tomahawk!

Reading about the comparison between the Tomahawk and Gaming Plus. I think Tomahawk is a better option because of frequent bios updates and better VRM cooling also it has a type C at the back.

Looks good, WiFi and Bluetooth would be a plus, but I'm being a cheapskate

What games did you get?

Wonder if that's still a promotion

Check AMD’s website and it’ll break down what’s applicable for what reward and what you get. I built the pc for someone else and gave them the code to redeem so not 100% sure. They are AAA games though so well worth the money

Yeah I was seriously considering this board but going by that thread it hasn't been resolved yet.

I'm sure it will be after a bios update but probs still best to wait I think

There are problems reported on most of the MSI boards at present. MSI have released beta BIOS for many boards but the issues have not yet been sorted out. Main issues seem to be inability to boot or POST reliably.
Keep in mind this is not the newer forthcoming MAX model with a larger BIOS chip. So eventually BIOS updates may remove / deprecate older AM4 CPUs.

This model received good reviews and has decent VRMs. It might be worth waiting for reports before trying Zen 2 on it though.

Now I wish I waited a bit to buy my stuff ):. Also a little nervous about the msi issues, not everyone seems to be facing issues, and the consensus seems to be that a future bios update should sort things out. Not sure if I should put off building until then or just hope for the best

Oh also there's a MAX version of some of the MSI boards coming including the tomahawk for more storage for upgrading the bios. If I'm honest, I'd probably go for this deal if I didn't already order one beforehand though.

Pretty important elements of using a computer really
Buildzoids recommended; like all the MSI B450 boards. Good VRM (needed for the Ryzen 2), but with basic features compared to the Gaming Pro Carbon.

I grabbed a msi b450 carbon pro. Was it worth the extra £20?
Missed it. Guess I will wait on prime

I was going to do the same had second thoughts about spending the extra 20 but then I thought I won't be making use of the extras in the carbon pro.
For me the only highlight was having 2 M.2.
For £20 extra you get intel Ethernet and WiFi and Bluetooth it's justified.
But thought to put the extra money into ram/processor and went for the tomahawk.
says expired and out of stock. Was a great bargain imo.

Thanks for your reply. Just don't know whether to get a Ryzen 2600 or splash out on a 3600 CPU. Ordered the MSI Vega 56 too today, which I missed on the previous 20% off ebay deal.

Personally I would go for 3600 if you can find at a good price. It out performs even a 2700 which is 8 cores 16 threads if gaming is your priority.
If you are looking for productivity and gaming at a good price I would suggest Ryzen 2700.
But again purely for gaming it's definitely 3600 because of its efficiency in single threads and multi threads also better thermals at less power.
Price wise I don't think the 3600 is going to come down anytime soon.
Bloody lovely price for a great motherboard
Got this with a 3600, it won't post reliably at all. Hold off if buying for Zen 2.

Latest BIOS? They've been a bit buggy.....

Latest BIOS? They've been a bit buggy.....

Yes latest "stable" V18 BIOS and even the V19 beta BIOS.

There are new 'MAX' versions of the MSI B450 boards coming out soon with a bigger BIOS chip (32mb) that are supposedly 3rd gen ready. No ETA yet and if MSI can't fix these boards I can't see any hope for the new Max boards.

It's a bit like the lottery with these boards and 3rd gen Ryzen.

I'm going to return this board and put my old system back in and just wait for the dust to settle. Seems to be quite a few problems with most of the chipsets. B350, B450, X470 and even the new X5xx range.

Yes, I'm holding off. Nice CPUs, but I can't see the point of upgrading my 2700x just yet (on a Aorus Gaming 7 WIFI).
Anyone know if any came back in stock today? Need to know so I can cancel my X470 Gaming Pro order.
