A Parent who wants to teach their kids about ethnic diversity... or just wants their kid to have a doll that looks like their friends and family...

Would you be so surprised if someone was looking for a doll with short hair?

exactly meglaman2000...why should i give my daughter a white doll when we are not! and yes i find it wrong that the doll is called " ethnic"..like someone's comment but at least they've got one!

Lovely doll , elc used to do a black baby doll, boy or girl , my lad had the black baby which he chose himself , I think it's got to be a good thing to have a mixture of doll colours and types to echo real life diversity .

Ah! an ethnic doll. What ethnicity is it supposed to be then?

Was this one of Amazons Black Friday deals?

Do they do Chinese ones?

I know the brand does Chinese dolls as well but I don't know if House of Fraser sells them

oh.. is sold out now due to high demand. ...that shows how many people looks for black dolls and not many shops sells them.

I'm an 'ETHNIC' myself..... I have no issue with diversity and children wanting dolls of different ethnicity, I think its excellent that dolls of different diverse backgrounds are made.

My point is, its called An ETHNIC doll. I find that rude! Call it an Asian Doll / A Chinese Doll / An African doll.

I see where your coming from, as it is a wide catch all term, but by the same token a white doll is white, and a black doll black. Doll companies dont specify it as Australian, or French, or Nigerian, I just cant see how its rude, would it be better if it was called a mixed race doll? How else could you describe such a doll without irking someone sensibilities?

Fair comme
