Great price. Heat added. Same price at John Lewis at the mo too.
We have one of these and it has been great. Really strong and not as noticible as other gates when it is folded back.

I'm glad because I've just ordered a few!
Got one of these at the bottom of the stairs. For me, I wouldn’t use it at the top.
I bought this exact one in Nov 2016 and it's used many times a day and it's still as good as the day I fitted it. We call it the Marley stopper. I put it at the bottom of my stairs to stop my labador going up the stars.

Why not at the top?

Why not at the top?

The design means they’re flexible in the middle. I wouldn’t want a toddler leaning on it at the top. We did have to add an extender due to the width that may exacerbate the issue. We have a fixed wooden one at the top.

I’d have though for most people space at the top of the stairs isn’t an issue as it can rotate against the wall. We used this downstairs as it concertinas and doesn’t block hallway or access to living room door.
We did exactly like Parfy and for the same reasons.

we have had ours for about 4 years, still looks the same as it did when we got it, my only issue is that the catch is very stiff on ours and has not loosed off over time.

I guess that makes sense. Getting a normal gate at the top of my stairs would be awkward as I have a small house. So will need to see how bad the flex is.

Also, do you think it's ok to mount 3 inches off ground level?

Yeah as long as that’s a height that suits you. Just took this so apologies for bad lighting and mess but this is how ours is mounted. Probably about three inches off the second step.

I have one at top and bottom, been great. About 2 years old. One at top of stairs is not flexible when closed, and is attached to wooden frame so very secure. Much more than my bottom one which is in plasterboard on one side. Of course this is just for my house but they are very good generally speaking. Going to get another for the bedroom door to stop midnight wandering I think.
Great price. We have one at the top of our stairs and took a panel out so is quite straight and doesn't bend in the middle

That’s really reassuring. I was just about to reply to the post above asking whether this was a major issue as I have just purchased one for the top of our stairs. Was it simple to take the panel or two out so as to better fit the gap in which it is going at the top of our stairs?

Yes it was easy; it just slotted out. Unfortunately the panels are very large so by taking one out we also needed to fix it to a baton on bannister to make it fit
