Any idea how these compare with the LittleLife ones? ie. the Cross Country S2 which we had our eye on?

Sorry i really have no idea. Maybe someone else will if they see this.

I bought a red one of these last year when they were £29.99. It is very good. I had a similar style one from a hiking shop with my 2nd child, that cost around £100 (Bushbaby) and to my eye and back, there is not much difference. I am not a serious walker though and have only used it a handful of times as I find the Nipper 360 pushchair easier on my back!

I often see these and similar whilst out and about hiking, I've never seen one where a child looks like they're enjoying themselves though. I've also often thought that when you are not moving much and outside its quite easy to get very cold, even with warm clothing on. I often feel for a small child.

Why not leave your child in the care of someone instead?

We have one of the littlelife backpacks and I have to say that my 10 month-old loves it. We always make sure that he is well-protected (rain/wind cover is great) and he sits up high laughing for most of the walk. Have to disagree about kids being left at home - our family 'hikes' are a great time for family bonding and fresh air for the wee ones!
