We're currently looking in to it ourselves. BeSafe seem very recommended, but certainly not cheap.....
Having a 1 year old baby front facing does seem just plain wrong though!
The code doesn't seem to work unfortunately, at least not on:
Just out of interest, at what age is it safe to put child in front facing car seat? Diff places say diff things
2yrs but weight more important
I read 3 years old as the bones in the neck haven't fused properly to then. This ties in why some European countrys its a legal requirement rear facing until 3.

I know rear facing is better for as long as possible, however, at some point, there legs become too long for this to be possible!
They say that the child actually likes bent legs and it is not uncomfortable for them. Although a child should be rear-facing till 4 years , it is practically impossible to get car seat belts in the uk to fit around your stage 2 or 3 car seat rear facing. I have been into a lot of places trying to find one which will fit with the belts in my jeep but to no avail!!! We did look on amazon america and there are a few there which MAY fit but who can be sure???
One question though, why are rear seats in cars not just turned the other way around facing the back window. Less impact for everyone, no???????????
Heat added. Bought this one in end (for £33.99) needed new one for my 3 yr old (who's as big as a 4 yr old!) kiddicare.com/web…568 Thanks a lot annarrjames - v pleased.

totally agree! we've got a besafe izi combi which is a hulk of a thing and I've got no doubts about my daughter's safety in it. managed to get it for £190 but was hunting for a couple of months before that deal popped up. i think besafe only go to 18kg though whereas some other brands go to 25kg

It was GroovyStyle but that was a few months back, and for a pink one which wouldn't have been my first choice. It was £200 with a 5% facebook discount. Just had a quick look now and they're £295!! I think the cheapest I've seen other than that is about £260.
