With my TV falling off the stand in the past week its made me more safety conscious. Found this at half the price of most other retailers.
The strap that can prevent the flat screen televison from tipping over. Anti Tip TV strap simply secures to back of TV unit (fixings included) and then to back of cabinet or wall.

Prevents the TV from tipping over if pulled by a child.
The fixings simply fit into the existing TV brackets.
The fixings are black in colour so blend in behind the televsion.
The pack comes with an assortment of fixings for most popular TV makes.

It most definitely wouldn't stop the tv tipping backwards which seem a bit pointless to me as most kids push on the tv (well mine anyway).

Not also forgetting to mention also .. IF the Walls in your place are like made out of sodding Ply Wood (as a LOT of so-called 'Modern Houses' are these Days ... ) then hanging such a volumous contraption on your Wall could prove itself a death trap ... & in more ways then one ..... (know your House first basically? .. 1 generic solution NOT necessarily work for all? .. a 'trait' which seems to be a common 'rule of thumb' in this Country of late for some reason ..... hehe) lol. :-)

Hahaha .. Big 'Arnie' did in the Movie he did some Years back called Junior (with Danny De Vito)? + IRONICALLY too .. the World's FIRST Pregnant MAN is a WOMAN!, NO JOKE!, so you'll be veryyyyyyyy surprised what Today is 'possible' for real ... (its already been Recorded in the Guiness Book of Records some 3+ Years ago or something?) .. look it up ..... Female Sperm Donors who were former Men are next me thinks ..... :-)

By watching too much porn ..... no wait, that contributes to making you go 'blind' instead? .. my bad! lol.

Well the plasterboard must be fixed to something i.e usually wooden beams/studs which are more than capable of taking the weight of a tv, maybe not a plasma. You can get a wall bracket for 5/10£ which I imagine is cheaper than the cost of this plus a tv stand. Also it looks much more cleaner and saves space. But I guess everyone has their own preference tbh.

let me present to you the TV of the future

http://curtismathes.webs.com/1980%20Curtis%20Mathes%20TV%201-13-12%20002.jpg

Have knocked a TV over & it smashed. Have drilled 2 small holes in each stand & screwed them down. Would rather a couple of holes than replace TV's. Have bumped it to the one in the bedroom several times & it is sound as a pound. Wont put a TV on my walls. Very soft are they

what if they push the TV backwards? the top falls back & the bottom slides forward hitting the kid in the head.

Good point

Or have the TV higher than said kids

Not terribly funny given that children have been killed that way.

Haha, you want the tv to rock backwards and then forwards on to your child? Is this for the extra momentum? Or did you mean 'than'?

Use an old leather belt and a couple of nails.... proper job!

As we are all gathered here can I ask does your flat screen TV lean forward slightly (on a stand not the wall obvs). Mine does and I can't stop it from doing so and it does my head in.

Yeah my nanny Plasma used to until I wall mounted it. I have no solutions, (apart from wall mounting) but I do feel your pain. It did my head in too.

Panny, not nanny! My Nanny's called Dilys, not 'plasma'
