The product itself is smashing, has 3 simple settings which give different results, it takes about 5 mins from start to finish to use the product, curls last a long time, perfect product.
The negative part, well, ever since we got this bloody thing, she has roped me into straightening and curling her hair because i offered to help her with the back ONCE!
If you are considering these, don't be a gentleman about it, tell them to do the bloody job themselves.
I've tried getting OH to straighten the back of my hair in the past and I'm sure he does it rubbish on purpose so I won't ask him,I mean,it's not difficult to use GHD's is it,but it's not very straight when he does it so I don't bother, mission accomplished to him no doubt!
I ought to do the same when using the hair clippers on him,say I can't do it !

How to spot a fake youtube.com/wat…ODo (warning, Aliexpress, DHGate etc have "Babyliss" branded fakes for around £10, be careful buying from third parties, I'd buy from Amazon themselves or a trusted retailer only).
Other ways to spot a fake Curl Secret:
Check out the box - genuine packaging is sturdily built, thick cardboard, precise printing/colours, embossing, no spelling errors.
Genuine Babyliss comes with a Warranty Card or Leaflet (mine, and the instructions were in a clear plastic bag).
Egg crate carton top and bottom, inside the box, as protection with the real thing (though some fakes have this too).
It should come with a curl chamber cleaning tool (two-pronged tool like this):
Fake Babyliss have "Babyliss"-stamped silver metal ring, near the cable - real ones are blank.
Genuine Curl Secrets have good weight, counterfeits are light and build quality/finishing is poor (eg, Babyliss print wears off quickly - typeface looks "off", poor casting, thinner plastic - when you tap it it feels shallow, edges "rough").
Cable is thinner on the fake versus genuine model.
If your hair gets caught with the real one, it automatically stops, preventing any damage - counterfeits apparently don't have the safety cut-off facility.
(About the Miracurl but applies to this model too) http://geekgirlmanila.com/2014/05/01/babyliss-miracurl-review-demo-and-authentic-vs-fake/
The authentic one…
… heats up much faster.
… curls better and the heat feels more regulated so I am confident that my hair won’t burn.
… does NOT snag your hair. The authentic one has a safety feature where the curler stops sucking in hair when there’s a snag. The fake one does NOT have that feature. I found my hair being caught in the fake one one too many times.
… does not emit a burning plastick-y smell. The fake one does and this was the ultimate reason why I decided to invest in the authentic one. I am deathly afraid of fire and burning so every time I curled my hair with the fake one, I was so paranoid that it would just burst into flames or explode! I would actually turn off the fake MiraCurl in mid-curling to make it ‘rest’. With the authentic one, I could curl continuously and I was confident that it wouldn’t turn into a fire hazard.
In use, be sure to comb each strand before each curl, makes life a bit easier
I would post links to a few example counterfeit Curl Secrets but I don't know if it would put my post into moderation queue limbo

I've heard a few dodgy stories about cheap perfumes sold and dispatched by Amazon themselves, and I bought a ysl product from Amazon directly which really didn't seem like the real deal!

Babyliss main website say they don't make them in this colour
The Babyliss Belgium website implies this "Fashion Curl Secret C901PE" is real - a "Limited Edition" Fashion variety in Pink or Blue http://babyliss.be/fr/produits/coiffure/boucleurs/
Amazon.de also sell them, and they're on Babyliss' German site babyliss.de/pro…pe/ Germany even has them in "Ionic" White (C1101E) and "Fashion" Black (C900E)! https://www.babyliss.de/produkte/haarpflege/curl-secret/
C901PE box:
I suppose an email to Babyliss wouldn't hurt if you're unsure. http://babyliss.be/fr/contact/
The Ionic Pearl White is 79EUR at the moment on Amazon.de, I'd rather go for the more advanced model (plus my hair resists curls so I would need the higher temperature settings the Ionic models offer) amazon.de/BaB…VK8 (comes to approx GBP 65.48 with delivery).
Also, if you're really really bad with hair (like me) this might be worth a try facebook.com/buz…04/ it looks pretty much idiot-proof!
oh no I didnt know it was just a basic one, tried to cancel it but too late, plus not sure of the return policy
my girlfriend got a set for christmas from a professional hairdresser supply shop. Limited edition in this colour I believe
unfortunately my "fake" had all the genuine features, egg box, very sturdy casing, great clear print and the accessories. The ring was even embossed and the numbers perfectly in line with the switches. also heated quickly and wasn't noisy like some fakes. Think the warranty was missing but id already been on to babyliss before it even case as social discount network ignored my request for their suppliers name.
The professional hair salon has to be on the list of approved offical babyliss outlets or she has obtained and sold fakes.
Depending on the model, a real Babyliss Curl Secret doesn't have anything embossed on the silver ring, think you misunderstood.
Not sure why you're resurrecting an old thread, this is from Amazon.fr
