Ordered this online from Tesco Direct and picked it up at my local one. Read reviews on it etc and it has nothing but positive reviews and for £20 you cant wrong.

You can see on Tesco's website it was £50 and i've checked online aswell and the cheapest i've seen is £30+

Picked the higher spec 7890U up in Sainsburys (instore - Colchester) for £25 last week - not sure if they are still on offer, but might be worth a look if you prefer the digital display.

how small can you go on this?

0.4 mm according to the Sainsbury's description for the same product.

I have the version with the digital display, and it does 0.4mm

Although it always seems to trim longer than the display suggests.

I've got the 7890U - great piece of kit.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Was just about to order

Me too!

How good is this to use on the head? I'm guessing it will take a long time to do due to the size?

It depends how much hair you have on your head and as you mentioned, just how big your head is. It doesn't take me long with mine. I recently bought one of the Remington digital cordless jobbies for £30 in Lidl, now thats' fast. But the Babyliss is really designed for beards and 'gooches'.

I used to shave my head with a razor so I'm considering something like this instead. Saying that I always find trimmers quite messy, I always get hair everywhere!

amazon is £44/£33 no just looked
