Not Necessarily, Don't Fall into that trap. With tools you always get what you pay for. You pay more; you get higher quality tools made with better materials. You pay less; you get poorer cheaper materials which will not stand up to much.
I speak from great experience having wasted lots of money in the past buying cheap tools thinking I would be saving money, then realizing they were generally rubbish and then going and buying better tools like Bahco and CK.

agree.. buy cheap buy twice is what I've experienced with tools. o.k occassionally you get luck but in the main if your serious with diy avoid cheap tut

looking at the pic (may be wrong) it looks like things you could get in the pound shops a few years back (made in china), the wire stripper may be good value though

I agree, but sometimes there are bargains to be had! I use long nose pliers for work, and often loose them, so don't want to spend a lot on buying replacements, most 99p one's are total rubbish, but for only a pound or so more, can get Draper one's which are very good. Thin line between good and bad in cheap tools.
Grips will be off these in minutes
Made in England, if you please.
3 strippers for £5.That's some bargain

had these before, and STILL abusing them after several YEARS.

keep the receipt! what's the negativity for?

Thanks, OP H+'d

now off ta tidworth Lidl
Shame they don't do delivery.
bought three items last year. Have had a lot of use this year and are fine.
These are made from German Steel which is the same stuff they make top end tools from, they may not look as good but they will certainly do the job i have used them before and i will use them again. the cutters are the best especially if your a spark or general engineer.
You don't get what you pay for you get what you buy..

Like anything some tools are way over priced based on brand names while others are a bargain...these fall into the latter

It's because they have mechanic's nipples.

Oh, sorry, it says mechanic's nippers.
Mechanics nippers. Now im interested.
[Insert Kevin Webster joke here]
How do the people that bought these the first time round find them?

Any casualties or breakages?

I had a pair of pliers explode on live wiring
I bought the wire cutters, stripper and pliers last time this offer was on about 6 months ago. Used them a fair bit and they are still like new. Bargain IMO
cheaper than a dentist (_;)
From 18 April - worth putting that in headline OP to avoid frustration!
The full set consists of 7 items. Hate offers like this where you have to either miss one out or buy multiples of another.

You shouldn't make comments like this until you try them. I bought a pair of water pump pliers about 5 years ago. I have used them for everything from plumbing fittings to assembling bikes and toys and working at the car etc and they have never let me down. They lie in the boot of my car and only about an hour ago I used them to tighten a pipe that was leaking on a job that i was on as no one had any spanners. I won't pay for expensive tools as I abuse them and leave them lying about in the rain (I sometimes use them as a hammer). So please don't make rash comments.
Lidl tools are excellent quality,Iv'e bought them many times.
