Thanks op

What is the difference between this and V6? I bought the V6 £125 deal. I could afford this. But I don't care that much as long as it does the job and 15-20 mins suction from a full charge seems ok to me. Did I make the right choice?

I believe its longer use and bit more powerful. Also improved features like on the V8 can push the dirt out, whereas the V6 I had to scrape the dirt out.

cheers. There is always a performance for price sweet spot and I hope I got a deal with the V6! I get mine Tuesday and I actually look forward to doing a spot of housework. Just a guy fed up with using a bulky & corded vacuum.

Good price, these are usually around £400. I will stick with my V6 for now though

Other than the performance and battery, the other thing is the bin emptying. Which has a design flaw on the V6 where you have to reach with your fingers, but was sorted on the V8.

Excellent price! That bin design flaw is the only reason I would even consider upgrading my v6. But I only got my v6 a week ago:)

If you go over the maximum fill line, dirt and fluff gets stuck higher up.

Oh I see,I thought they meant dirt was stuck on the bottom of it

Yep hate the fact the dirt gets stuck in the bin part its a right pain keep having to poke fluff out or remove the bin that never seems to.slot back on easy.

Same here. I wonder if I can test both before returning one of them? Or they only accept unused returns?

It won't hurt calling Dyson and asking them that.

Thank you for this. Missed it first time.

hmm I'm staring at my V6 that just arrived two minutes ago hoping I can put up with this bin flaw! Seems to be the only significant factor, then.

V8 has a totally different emptying system which is a lot better.

OOS again :-(

Refurbished one includes 1 year guarantee. New ones are 2 years.

I hate emptying my V6 Absolute and would never had bought it if I'd known how difficult/messy it is to empty. Glad to hear the V8 has been revised but I'm stuck with mine for some time to come . If you can afford it go for the V8.

These are likely the returns from weekend when Curry's had it for £279 brand new.

For the docking station, do the screws come included in the refurbished units?

Doesn't list a charger as included in the box ? Assuming one is included!

I ordered a Dyson V8 Absolute Pro from Dyson for £350 over the weekend, arrived today. Ordered one of these refurbs now and if it is good condition when it turns up I'll return the Pro. £100 is a good saving even if the stick doesn't look as good on the standard absolute!

You wouldn't even know to look at them that they are refurbished completely new looking and clean as a whistle

sent my v6 animal back and bought a v7 motorhead pro run time is 30 mins bin emptying has improved as on v6 it was hard to take out the fluff as for v8 it has much longer run time and much more powerful only 1 thing is i dont like the orange colour wand well each to their own...

Can I ask why did you test the V8 but then choose to buy a lesser model? was it purely for the extra year warranty?

No i not tried the v8 as of yet but thinking of buying it i am finding v7 less powerful i am not sure why it does the job also the v7 is on offer at the moment i liked the black colour wand too, but you only get 2 attachments with it.. also the guarantee does not really bother me even if it is 1 year i
Just want power and good suction on
It

I tried the v6 animal and v7 animal also the v6 absoloute but thinking of getting the v8 to try out how powerful it is

Thanks OP, I ordered one yesterday and it has just been delivered. I've read on a few other deals for these that refurbs usually come in a plain box but my one has turned up in what appears to be a brand new box, i.e it is sealed and mentions the standard 2 year warranty on the side.

Does anyone know if Dyson would honour the 2 year warranty on it, or if it has been flagged as having been sold as a refurb so they will only honour the 1 year advertised on the outlet page?

To possibly answer my own question, I've opened the box, the paperwork inside doesn't mention it being a refurb and still mentions a 2 year warranty so I tried registering the machine on the Dyson website and the confirmation email seems to suggest a 2 year warranty.

There's still a possibility they may reduce this to 1 year if/when they discover I purchased it as a refurb from the outlet, but would be interested to know if anyone else had a similar experience of it arriving in a normal looking sealed box with paperwork still mentioning the 2 year warranty as if it were a brand new product.

Ordered before they’re all gone......the Mrs is going to be soooooo happy on Christmas morning!
