Love a good all day battery. 1GB ram though...eww

When will the standard Moto G drop?

Guys what's this phone like in speed, when compared to a Samsung Galaxy S5?

lol s5 wins hands down obviously. may i ask if you're trolling?

Doesn't look like it has 4G either so be aware.

Agree entirely. It's probably been at least 5 years from I've had a phone with so little but it's £80 so there are going to be sacrifices.

Peeps will shoot me down for saying this but for another 60 quid you can get the zuk 2 which will last a good few years with the snapdragon 820 and 4gb. Yes I know for x amount you can get this and that, but it's all about investment return, I rather buy something that will last a few years and I am sure you all agree on that. Good luck either way.

Lol

Specs are meh tbh. Anyone want a budget phone but with decent specs should look at the Blu Studio One on Amazon bought one a few months ago and I'm loving it.

No compass, 1GB ram. no deal I'm afraid

Still seems overpriced

Works fine. Just checked (_;)

all this about 1gb ram. just returned the lenovo 4gb for this. I can't see any difference maybe a couple of months time but now it's just has good at less than half price

I could live with the 1GB ram but not the 8GB internal memory regardless of the SD card expansion. Even now some apps cannot be moved especially the Google ones.

Edit: my mistake has been pointed out below

Got one of these for the Mrs, she doesn't play games on her phone ergo 1gb of ram is absolutely fine for all the apps she uses. Moto G4 play should really be called Moto G4 anything but play.

16GB internal memory not 8GB

How much memory does this have? I've got the G3 and 8gb is so frustrating! oO

Where did you buy your zuk 2 on the look out for a new phone and sounds interesting

Writing this on my G4 play I got the last time this was posted. It's actually significantly faster than the g3 with 3gb ram I had before it. It's a decent phone especially considering the price. I'd definitely recommend it.

You do realise he was merely asking for a comparison, for a frame of reference and not suggesting that the phones were the same speed, don't you?

Motorola support is appalling, wouldnt go anywhere near it.

Bought one for the wife at this price before christmas and she loves it

I bought 2 of them 2 weeks back for my daughters, they are really good and both of them enjoying

No I'm not trolling, lol! The s5 I had is damaged due to dropping it on tiled floor, so kinda desperate to get another phone. Don't know much about the Moto G4 and that's why I was asking.

Ebay are selling used/damaged s6 phones in the region of £200+ ....what a rip-off.

My apologies. It's easy to get mixed up between the different variants of Motos which I have here.

Is it unlocked and can I use either 3 network or 02. Thanks for any advice.

Yes unlocked.

Band support from the motorola site:

Bands (by model)
Moto G Play - XT1604
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (B1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28)

3 runs on 2100 (band 1), 1800 (band 3) and 800 (band 20).
o2 runs on 900 (b8), 2100 (b1) and 800 (b20)

It supports all of these, so yes.

1GB RAM....for anyone who wants to actually use this as a smartphone you need at least 2GB of RAM

Thank you so much babbler123

Think I will stick with my xiaomi.

I'm happy with my Moto G (1st Gen) still. Was a great phone back then and still OK today. This G4 is better spec'd at 2/3 the cost. I think its a good deal! If its still about when my G1 dies I'd be happy to get it.

oos both colors, won't let me check out

yeah OOS

out of stock now.
