Put mine together tonight. Must say, I am very impressed!

Is the quality okay? Some people have mentioned buckled wheels and the like...

I got mine on Monday night. It's going to be fastened permanently to my turbo so I haven't ridden it on the road. It runs ok on the trainer though.

Claris shifters, front and rear derailleurs and a Shimano cassette. Can't remember what the chainset is but it's probably the only disappointing part.

A very good value for money bike and I'd say it's much better than the usual rubbish supermarkets sell at this price point.

was waiting for new stocks. Finally ordered thanks, heat added.

I hope they don't get anymore stock bit bored of the Tesco bike deals now !

Toot bike, everyone's gonna put in there shed and never use !

It's the upgrade project from downtube shifters to claris:)

If it had rear suspension, I'd buy it.

Have finally ordered it. Thanks OP.

Ordered another for the wife, awesome deal

Now out of stock

Seems they ran out before --- how long did it take before back in stock?

The £60 Piccadilly is more of a typical cheap BSO, whereas the Carnaby at £65 is actually a half-decent bike at a bargain price. Much better spec than the cheaper one.

The major differences are the number of gears, the £65 bike has a couple of extra gears. They have different ways of shifting gears and I'm assuming the build quality of the £65 bike is quite better than the £60 bike.

Great price, shows how overpriced some bikes are.

£60 one is in stock

My Carnaby turned up, and apart from the decals making it look a bit crappy, it was in pretty good shape, and overall excellent value for money.
However, if you read the reviews, there seems to ALWAYS be something missing from the box. For me it was the front quick release skewer, other people miss the saddle and seat post... My box was in good condition, but bust wheels seems to be a common issue for others, and they aren't great wheels..

Also, brakes need tightened to the frame. Wheels are way too tight on the bearings (they grind as they spin). Deffo do some set up before riding.

So apart from poor factory quality control, bargain.

Ordered the £60 one, findgers crossed, been thinkning about a road bike for a while so wortha shot to see if i like it or not, if not i'll sell it on and it might cost me a tenner to find our so massively worth it.

What is the size like, is it suitable for a 5" 8" adult? Or is it too small?

It should be fine for heights between about 5'6" to 6'1". I'm a 5'7" shortie and have ordered one for myself...

Probably the major difference if the Piccadily only has a freewheel so the rear wheel will have compromised strength compared to the cassette/freehub of the Carnaby. Often this difference alone can equal £80 plus on more mainstream brand bikes. If you are a heavier rider clearly the Carnaby has a huge advantage over the Piccadily but the freewheel may give the Piccadily some weight savings. Personally if the Carnaby was £40 more than the Piccadily it would probably still be worth paying the extra. That's not to say the Piccadily isn't a bargain but clearly the Carnaby is a much better deal for only a £5 more.

Bought the Picadillly last week click and collect, picked it up 2 days later,V/Easy to assemble.Best £60 I have ever spent at Tesco.I'm 5' 10'' and I reckon it would accomodate upto 6' +.

Just a little advice for anyone who have bad gears or wheels, just ring tescos and tell them you want to take it to Halfords... rather than returning and being out of stock. Tescos agreed to pay £50 for my Halfords repair on my wheels/gears.... now I have 1 year care plan with Halfords paid for by tescos... so worth a try if anyone has faulty bikes

A fiver

What a bunch of... I've ordered mine on Sunday, got dispatched email, then on Monday they've lost it, I was on the phone like 20min ago (and yesterday) and was informed it's out of stock, so she cannot place another order and have to be patient, got damn!

Good price, most are complaining about buckled an heavy wheels, you could add Hot UK Deal and to sort out the problems to make a very usable bike.

bonzobanana

clearly the Carnaby is a much better deal for only a £5 more.

Except that the Carnaby is out of stock

I ordered mine at the weekend and received it Monday... Have mentioned in the other deal thread about my thoughts but will reiterate here.. Its a great bike.. Amazed at the quality for the money.. It went together so easy and nothing was missing from the box and no buckled wheels or issues at all aside from a tiny blemish on the frame.. The chain is the only thing that looks cheap to be honest.

What a good deal. Thinking about a new bike. Just don't know if i fancy the job of putting it together! Does it take long?

you know where to go then! buzz off you little troll! back under your bridge!

I received mine last weekend. Put it together ok. Back break is a little sticky so not sure what thats about, it doesn't release all that quickly so im worried it rubs the rims a little, i also can't tighten it properly, it is always a bit loose so i can move it sideways, any ideas?

I also had a bent spoke, called Tesco and they refunded £15.

For the people calling Tesco with problems, are they just taking your word for it and refunding you? Or did you need to supply them proof? I'm tempted to ring and say the gears and wheels are a little out and I need to pay for them to get sorted.

the £65 one is (or was as it is now out of stock) cracking value for money with Claris on it.
but who the hell set up the £60 in the photos? don't fancy riding on the hoods much the way they have those handlebars!!

Had to return mine last night as the front forks had warped and I couldn't get the front wheel on because of it

This makes you a bad person

Claris = good, all the other complaints on quality would put me right off.
