I've went for it, cheers. Heated.
lolz.. video unboxing? I've seen it all now.
Looks hot to me! Glad I didn't manage to get the Zavvi deal in time. That's assuming the HMV one arrives.

Blu-ray review: blu-ray.com/mov…52/ (both video and audio score 4.5/5).

I actually stole that quote from the movie Airplane in case you thought it was an offer lol
If you were a proper fan you would have bought this when it was first released, Slacker!!!

Greatest trilogy ever. Went to see part 1 in the cinema on it's 25th anniversary. Amazing as always.

The most important video you need to see if your thinking of getting this is...

25 years...? god feel old. Thanks OP..... you're to blame :]
ive got this and its awesome. i dont understand how they can suddenley add extra detail to a movie that was shot ages ago.... i mean the HD on these movies is really spectacular.

The original is shot on film in the highest definition possible, optical! The film is then scanned in at above current HD standard resolutions. On the 40th anniversary we will all be buying the Super HD version!
Thanks!
Thanks for posting. Ordered X)
was slighlty disappointed with the packaging as it seems really cheap for 25th anniversary - nevertheless -- one of the best films of childhood
This is heavy

Why is it when you watch the original it looks so grainy and colour washed out? On the cinema as well you get those speckles from the film. Are you sure it was shot in such HD? On the gadget show I remember them taking a photo from a 35mm film and one on a digital camera and blowing them up to gigantic propotions. The 35mm film version was far far worse than the digital one.

Yes, it was definitely shot on 35mm film. I'm not sure a crappy budget 'experiment' on the Gadget Show is comparable to the multi-billion dollar movie-making industry. The fact is that optical film has a native resolution much greater than 1920x1080. It's still possibly to film something badly, though, such that when you scan the film at a high resolution the resultant image is poor.

Masters are made from the film before releasing a TV/DVD/Blu-Ray version. If you've seen a poor release, it is probably that the master made for that release was half-arsed and lacklustre. A great example is Friends. It was shot on film, but the master for TV circulation was done on video tape (which basically becomes worse with age unlike digital masters). This is why they look poor, especially the first season or two. The new HD masters used for HDTV broadcasts are quite incredible compared to the originals. Season 1 looks like it was re-filmed last week, with the actors made-up to look 20 years younger.

Anyway, forget about all this tech. stuff and enjoy the film.

Best picture blu ray I have seen, natural and I feel the grain isn't extreme but adds to the film, mostly due to its age. Great deal.
I just ordered the 50th anniversary edition, the 32k high definition quality was awesome. The price of 299 euros was not impressive though.

Back in my Delorean for the Rocky XXVII Premiere
The shark looks even faker in HD

Ordered and heated.
Best damn Trilogy EVER imho!

It's actually 27 years. You just traveled two years into the future, and also became slightly older. You're welcome.
Top deal, thanks
Ordered, thanks OP!
Same price instore?
in store as well??
Now I'm confused.
I bought what I thought to be the Zavvi deal on 11th, for what appears not to be the 25th anniv ed.
Odd thing is this one has the same picture as the HMV one, MJF on his own, and the same product code Catalogue Number: 8278886.
So do I order another one?!
This Saturday Night, we WON'T be watching Back To The Future :-(

How long will we be waiting?

Does this edition include the digital copies? The American BTTF blu ray 25th anniversary edition includes digital copies.

No the one from Zavvi the other day was the 25th anniv ed
Anyone know just how 'special' this order is? And how long are we likely to wait?

Also, notice how most 'HOT' deals just lately are posted by newbies?
I assume this is in-store as well as online?
Watch Docs face in the parking lot when he's about to fire up the DeLorean for the first time. The way he just gives Marty a look of "where do you think you're going". Absolutely priceless. A great comedy duo on screen, more chemistry than any other I found.
I've never watched any of these films. Are they worth buying on Blu Ray?
