Bad boys 4K UHD at a low price. Not sure if this is due to a sale but it’s still a low price for 4K content

1995 film in 4K? Yeah alright

Analog sources don't have limiting resolution, so can be re-scanned (digitalised) to any resolution. Definitely there will be film grain, but still.
It is the same as with ripping old vinyl - the quality will be better than the CD
It’s on Netflix
Misleading title. Really needs to say "Amazon Video" and not just "Amazon" which suggests it's the physical disc.

Would be interesting to find out if anyone has experience with Apple 4K, I have a feeling that Apple will be able to deliver it better as I feel Amazon Prime/streaming is a bit lacking considering the amount of money backing them!

Although Bad Boys one is available in 4K on Netflix for the time being for anyone with Netflix

If I don't have a Amazon prime subscription couldn't still buy and watch this? If so how would I access it on my 4k TV? Do I just log in to my Amazon Web page and streak from there?

Yes. If your TV has an amazon app use that, otherwise you'll need a source with an amazon app, most games consoles or media players do. Yes you can stream from the amazon Web page on some devices

I bought it through the Xbox app which it usually doesn’t let you, so you may be able to do it through the app but also the way you mentioned should work 🏻

Yeah doesn’t look the best to be honest but still a good price considering the Xbox ‘sale’ has it reduced to £9.99

Bad boys 2 is available for the same price and looks much better

Sorted
Was it Bad Boys 2 that taught us rats do it missionary position? They just don’t make movies like this anymore...

Not true. The reason there are 4k versions of some older movies and television programs is that they were shot on film and not tape. Film does not have a resolution as such, but is limited by the grain size of the underlying substrate. However, its content can probably be captured up to 4k with modern technology. Tape is also analog but stuck at whatever res it was captured at.

As for vinyl... your comment is ridiculous

The number of people who dont 'get' the whole 4K resolution, and assume that anything before about 2005 cant possibly be delivered in 4K, and then post incorrect and misleading posts - I am glad you corrected here. Citizen Kane could be available in 4K - as you have rightly pointed out - due to the fact its from an original analogue negative. If they rescan it - rather than upscaling a previous HD source - then 4K will easily be distinguishable from the HD on large screens. The only critical variables are really the quality of the print and rescan, and how much care they take with processing it.

Out of interest there are often more limitations with more recent CGI heavy films when delivering in 4K: This is simply due to the fact that the effects shots may not have been rendered in 4K in the first place, so they cannot physically recover detail from those shots that has never been created in the first place. New film does not equal better 4K experience.
I believe 2nd one is also available on itunes in 4k for £2.99
Seen it. The Bad Boys are actually the good guys and they win at the end. 🏽
£3.99 now
Posted in another thread but I was watching some of bad boys 2 and it looked grainy on my TV. Is this how it looks or is my TV rubbish? I want to look for a newer 4k cheap film to test as a reference. Any recommended ones? Ill also test a 4k disc via the Xbox and see if disc or streaming is better.

I guess so, but your comment on vinyl made me interpret your entire post in a different light
