Description
Your home is under attack. The king is dead at the hands of Viking invaders. Hope is a distant glimmer in the fog, fading fast with every passing moment. As you rise to take your father’s place as ruler, it will fall to you to stage your defences. But make no mistake – this is no fight for victory, but a desperate grasp for survival.

3445543.jpg
Bad North is a charming but brutal real-time tactics roguelite. Defend your idyllic island kingdom against a horde of Viking invaders, as you lead the desperate exodus of your people. Command your loyal subjects to take full tactical advantage of the unique shape of each island. Everything is at stake: fail, and watch the blood of your subjects stain the ground red.

3445543.jpg
It’s charmingly brutal, with beautiful procedurally-generated islands and adorable soldiers juxtaposed against the blood-stained realities of war. You control the broad strokes of the battle, giving high level commands to your soldiers who try their best to carry them out in the heat of the moment. It’s accessibly deep, with simple player inputs masking a dynamic combat simulation that make it inviting to new players while challenging veterans.

Keep fighting, warriors. Not for power or riches or glory, but for hope of peace to come once again in the harsh lands of the Bad North.

Hope it helps someone.

Do people still sign off each of their comments with their own username nowadays?

No ill will intended, just saying that 'different strokes for different folks' is very much the way to look at it. Personally I'll always choose to pay money for a good game to support seeing more of them in future (especially when that costs as little as this) rather than making do with what's free and/ or pirating.

Interesting comment.

I'm not sure if you mean that people would prefer all the games to be freemium ad-filled grindy garbage or that they should steal games that are only a couple of quid.

Either way, I'm more than happy to fund devs for top quality content for less than half the price of a pint.

I just bought Battle Chasers: Nightwar which is on sale, it's an incredible game. Honestly if you like RPGs pick it up.

Bought as it was on my wishlist. Played first level to try it out. Great addition to my family group. Thanks OP.

Great game. Just managed to immediately spend about an hour on it already.

Brilliant game and a great price. Word of warning I have a Huawei P smart (2019) and the game kept crashing and lagging when I got about an hour in.

Google refunded with no questions so that's good. A shame though as I was really enjoying the game

Does anyone know if they have they fixed the issue where you can't load up saved games? Otherwise it's a bit of a deal killer

There's a review on there from today complaining about that. Do you know if it is only certain devices? I'm not buying it if you can't save progress.

You can buy the game play it for a bit and if it doesn't do what you need it to do get a refund instantly.
The company who make this have a few of their other games on sale as well.

Well o er the last year on my Samsung Note I've downloaded a couple of hundred games I reckon, uninstalled a few, never even opened a few, got a few here that were free that were a paid game or supposed to be, I don't think I've paid for one, as for gaming on a phone I dont see great value on buying them, maybe the odd app I buy but I suppose it's free also through my reward points.

Now on the Xbox or PC I don't mind buying some, must be something to do with playing on a 24'' monitor rather than 5 or 6 inch screen with dodgy controls !

I do like games, just bought an elite 2 controller last week at over £100 I paid the same for the 1st elite, so never about the money etc

Just saying lol

Is each island a relatively quick little thing? Wasn't sure if the comments about immediately sinking an hour into it related to the 'just one more island' type mentality or it genuinely taking ages!

You're paying too much for beer, Wetherspoons is that way --> in about 3 months.

No no it's very quick paced. Some islands probably take just over a minute. I just kept playing.. And learning..
Picked this up and having a great time with it. Easy gameplay, great tactics, art style is very cute. Definitely worth £2.59
