This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Badshah basmati rice for eleven pounds in Morrisons. £1 per kg of basmati is a good price, but seems difficult to get it at this rate lately so £11 is a good price in my opinion.

Not great rice

Beg to differ with you on this, while not the best it's certainly very good from my experience in the past.

Other than Tilda, which others do you think are good? Thanks.

Thanks, we do like this Badshah rice and we have tried a fair few but will give white pearl and Laila a try too on your recommendation.

Best basmati rice out there
Kohinoor is nice aswell. Badshah rice is ok, not rubbish not brilliant.
I haven't tried this personally, however my recommendation is for the other big brand Shahzada rice they do as 10kg for £11 is very nice.

This is about the same in wholesalers, we tend to buy it as the larger 20kg bag though & store it in a picnic cooler.
Multiple types of kohinoor, of which we never really had the best results with, (we use an instantpot) whereas consistently better rice with the shahzada as a regular, non poncey everyday rice.

Lovely rice, we usually switch between this and laila basmati, but prefer laila more. Heat for the price. Thanks OP. 👌🏽
Not great rice at all, doesnt compare to Tilda.
This has been my go to rice for a while now, I've found it to be pretty good.

I'll have a look for that xtra long rice.

Not fresh enough, we get ours from the field

Basmati improves with age.
Thats right, the more aged the rice, the better the taste. We keep it for 2-3 months then use it

Tilda has outpriced itself a bit like Heinz beans. For us this means alternatives are now sought. We discovered Laila and Badshah as well as Branston Beans.
Does most rice contain weevils,I had a bag which after a time they started to emerge in quantity,I removed as many as possible and then decided that after searching on the internet and it being suggested that they were a good source of protein decided just to tuck in !!

Put raw garlic cloves in the bag/container. I break one head and put about 6-8 cloves in a 5kg bag. Never had them since.
Now that’s a BARGIN, keep an eye out for liala rice and white pearl rice.

Hi Monaco.
Thanks for the tip assume that this prevents them eating their way out of the grains but the dead larvae or whatever must still be contained in the rice as dead protein and just not visible.

I don't have a Scooby, but more likely you are eating unhatched eggs. An Indian woman gave me this tip and I've not looked back. Interestingly, my mum and aunts used to pick through rice prior to cooking getting rid of who knows. I wash my rice thoroughly to eliminate starch and probably subconsciously 'who knows'.
