Why Bakers Is Good For Your DogBAKERS is a complete and balanced food for your dog. This means it contains the right balance of the five major nutrient groups: proteins, fats and oils, minerals, vitamins, and carbohydrates to help maintain a dog’s body in good condition. Through our years of research into dog nutrition, our recipes have been specially formulated to match the nutritional needs of dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages.

At BAKERS we believe complete and balanced food must provide all the nourishment your dog needs to help keep healthy and happy throughout his life. That’s why BAKERS contains the required concentrations of over 30 essential nutrients, in a form that your dog is able to absorb and use. The food must also be tasty too. This ensures your dog eats enough every day to get the necessary levels of nutrients.

The meaty ingredients we useWe only use ingredients that come from animals that have been inspected under veterinary supervision and are deemed fit for humans to eat at the time of slaughter, whether it’s beef, lamb, duck or chicken. The parts of these animals that we use may no longer be culturally popular for us to eat, for example liver, kidney or heart, but they are packed with vital nutrients and are great sources of protein.

No added artificial coloursWe don’t add any artificial colours in Bakers dog food. The non-artificial colours we use occur in nature and are derived from sources such as plants and minerals.

It’s important to say that the artificial colours we used were, and remain, perfectly safe for dogs. That’s because any pet food ingredients are strictly regulated to ensure safety.

Colour has always been part of the Bakers brand, it fits with our bright, fun-loving personality - in fact it’s practically part of our DNA. Although dogs can’t see colour like we can, most owners want the food they buy to look appetising. Using the colours of meat, vegetables and cereals lets us indicate that our food is complete and balanced for a dog’s nutritional needs. Of course we haven’t made any changes to the Bakers’ taste, so feeding time will still be a source of great delight for you and your dog.

Caring about what we doWe’re proud to be a part of the PURINA family, one of the leaders in the field of pet nutrition and care for over 85 years.

We are also members of the Pet Food Manufacturers Association (PFMA), which is the principal trade body representing the UK pet food industry. PURINA employs food scientists and nutritionists who help formulate our recipes and, along with our vets, discover new ways to help pets lead healthier, happier and longer lives thanks to our investment in research and development. We also research pet happiness too, and our foods are the result of the latest advances in taste, digestibility and food enjoyment.

pavel i actually like this i mix it with my cereal in the morning
This is Poor Quality food with extremely low protein content!
Dogs Need at least 50%+ Protein!
Go to Zooplus & get better quality dog food (with more protein) from their huge & less well known ranges.
Note I do not work for Zooplus or Amazon

Rude
They boast Chicken at 4%? Mine has 55%. They use PROPYLENE GLYCOL which is pure e-cig liquid? You have to feed 1/3 more every day than mine which offsets the perception of theirs saving you money. They can afford to sell it for a lot less every day but don't. Mine is already priced that way. They don't support Canine and other charities mine does. They don't offer non profit rates for rescue dog owners, Emergency service and military families (incl ex professionalsl Single parents, widows and other groups, mine does. People who feed this stuff and similar only realise how much they love their dogs when they lose them yet they don't correlate the consequences of what they feed them with their well-being when they ARE alive. But as I always respect, in the end, the choice is theirs!

exactly the choice is theres and it entirely up to the individual what they feed there dogs.there not bothered about the mumbo jumbo attached to it they want value and thats what im giving.i dont pretend that this will give your dogs real gold puppies its as described this isnt about the feed you give your dog its for bakers and bakers only all the information is on show.please feel free to offer a post with the dog food you give your dogs and all the charities etc and ill vote accordingly
Just to correct a common misunderstanding, . Dogs don't need 50% Protein. The recommended level for an adult dog us 23% to 27%. The percentage of protein is a red herring. The FACT is a dog needs to absorb a certain number of grams of protein per kg of its body weight per day. 2 things are then relevant, the source of protein reflects the quality preferring neat over veg etc. and the amount of other ingredients required in the dogs food to make it feel full up. ie a dog needs to swallow 10 kgs of food every day at 1% protein to consume its requirement of 100gs of protein or swallow just 100gs of food at 100% protein to consume the same 100gs of protein. The latter leaves the dog starving and not getting any other essential nutrients. I hope this helps.

Hi mate.. With all that propylene glycol which is the ingredient in ecigarettes your breakfast diet at least might help if you are trying to stop smoking. ☺️

I hope the above is helpful.

I quite agree but it is important as far as dog food is concerned not to make the natural assumption that cost us a reflection of ingredient quality. RC is mostly corn bur extortionate and very pricey. The vets recommend it as it is the only company that pours millions into the Royal vet college and the only food mentioned in their courses. I found this company when my dog was ill and the vet said give him Chicken which is unaffordable for me let alone my dog. My food is 55% Chicken Grain Free and as I am on ESA they give it to me and to many groups, nurses etc, at non prifit rates which made it irresistible as I don't know where I would be without my dog... Hope this helps. .

Interested in your comments. I talk with lots of people whose dogs have no problems yet they also say how their last dog lived for years. I would provoke the thought that if you fed your dog 50% meat and 50% healthy sources of other nutrients or Wheat 55% and propylene glycol as mentioned which is pure ecigarette juice, which would more likely lead to your dog living longer and more importantly with better wellbeing. Might it be possible for you to agree that reflecting the love you have for your dog with a contrasting approach to its nutrition is a situation of potentially being in denial? The choice if yours is yours and I for one respect your choice in spite of my own opinions.
£21 in waitrose. Cold.
very poor dog food, avoid at all costs if you care for your dog!
I feed raw but that another long discussion on its own

I agree with your comments for the most part & do know Ash relates to vitamin/mineral content.

I'm intrigued about the brand of pet food you use.....could you please enlighten me (my friend)???
My friend is disabled, on ESA, has a dog & cat that he'd like to feed better but also on a budget.
Many thanks!
