Look, I know it's bad and I shouldn't but £9 isn't bad for a Switch game.


It isn't bad for a *good* Switch game. Seriously, there are hundreds of amazing 3rd party games that hit this price or lower during an eShop sale. Spend your money on something that isn't complete trash.

    The price is great but unfortunately the game is not. It was critically panned in reviews.

    Was still £3 on PS5 in my local smyths the other day. Contemplated it,read some reviews,put it back on the shelf

    Nah. Something being a "great price" is only relative to the quality/worth of what you're buying. A great price for Balan Wonderworld would be 50p.

    If you're operating on a scheme where Odyssey was only 'okay', then this game would seem like catching your nads on a cheese grater.

    Seriously. If you think Odyssey (one of the best first party Switch games and one of the best ever Mario games) is only "okay" then I dread to think what you'd think of Balan Wonderworld, a game that quite transparently tries to copy Odyssey's game design.

    I have little interest in this game and know it bombed hard, but gunna be picking a switch lite up for my 6 year old daughters birthday soon, would this be worth grabbing as a filler present at least, we already have a ton of switch games and will get her the new Kirby next week which the whole family are excited for but from a kids prospective, it can't be that awful right....? Even if it keeps then entertained for a couple of hours?

    Get Super Mario Odyssey if you can afford it. It's the game that Balan Wonderworld is trying to imitate and it's magnitudes better.

    I haven't played it but the reason it has bad reviews from adults probably won't apply for a 6 year old new gamer. I'm sure she won't want a sophisticated story. I would buy it. It is nice looking, has female characters and is cheap. And a extra game (and box) for her collection

    Yea we have Odyssey already, her brother has his own switch and lots of games and they both love Mario, but my point was even if this is a cheap imitation if it will keep her busy for a few hours and add a new game to her library £9 isn't a bad price, I know how badly this game bombed but it looks relatively well polished graphically and appealing to children. Plus CEX trade in value is currently £8.00 so not much lost if she doesnt enjoy it

    Don't understand the hate for this game, I bought it for £14 a few months ago and am happy with it on Series X, although my brother playing Xbox One S said the performance was terrible
