COOOOOOLD even at this price.

It's 720i not 720p and barley much better than 640x480. Imagine drawing pictures with an Etcha Sketch to use in court!

"as you can clearly see judge it was Super Mario driving a super mario kart (from a 1990's Gameboy that crashed into me)"

This will give you next to nothing, you won't be able to read number plates of cars stopped in front of you.
This is the same trash they sell on Chinese sites and me like an idiot bought one! You’ll need a flashlight in the daytime to make out any images. My daughter now uses it for a tv in her dolls house

Your so right, noticed I was doing 40 in a 30 zone the other day, if it hadn't been for my dashcam thay would never have believed me when I reported myself, got 3 points and a £200 fine.
They must use cameras like these to film UFOs because they're never very clear.

Never even heard of 720i
Think it's nationwide. I saw this in my local Tesco on Newmarket Road, Cambridge. They have loads of them at half price. They are appearing together with a load of other motor related offers, Redex, Oil, etc.

I actually picked one but but noticed it's 720i and I kinda thought I'd want something with a little higher video resolution. Still, may be good for some. Have some heat.

It’s interlaced “I” bit worse than “p” which is progressive.

If you're ever in a bump and it's your word against the other driver's they're a godsend. Could save your no-claims bonus and reduce your wait for settlement from your insurance from weeks to days with footage to back you up.

I think, Mr Pedant, its for when you are driving like a twonk and plod notices you have a dashcam and you haven't been prudent to swallow or chuck the card, that they could conficate this quite reasonably and use as evidence against you.

See, wasn't so hard to understand now was it.

Yes I see your point, as I don't drive like a "twonk" it never occurred to me 😬
I saw this in my local Tesco in Northampton so it must be Nationwide. However for a dashcam to be £12.50 dont expect all the bells and whistle, dont know what quality is like so be aware.
Claims to be HD and being sold by Tesco, i'd imagine its better than some will give it credit for.

Could do with another one for rear facing. Might try and pick one up, worst case it is rubbish and gets taken back.

The link to the one on the website, seems to be the same but obviously in blue, although it states that its NOT HD.

paid around £18 on ebay for these. i don't think it will capture a moving number plate, but perfectly adequate capturing some chump pulling out in front of you
also saw these in meadows sandhurst store

It saved me when someone cut a corner and swiped me, then told the insurers that I pulled out on him. The video clearly showed him cutting the corner and the decision got turned around.

These have plenty of uses, you may not see the need for it, but one day when something like the above happens, you would wish you had one fitted.
Just got one, looks OK for the money and says it's:

1280x720 /640x480p 30fps

screen res 480x240

Also says motion detection

I think it's this one and although this has 1080p on it, the footage is 720p

Ah well with a narrow point of view to yourself you will also probably never going to see said twonk coming to hit you, but at least there is some chance he might have a satnav that could be confiscated by police to incriminate him
Don't think you have to incriminate yourself if you have one - you have to volunteer the footage don't you?

Awesome, you'll only incriminate yourself if your doing something wrong in the first place! Used mine a few times, caught a twat on coming using phone with no hands on wheel! Got a crazy get road rage on me, numpty got dragged down station same day, got a telling off and made to write a letter of apology (my choice, could of had them charged). Also had a driver disciplined and given a final warning by employer because of my dash cam showing him pulling out with no gap and having to emergency stop to avoid a collision ... He pulled out of a pub and got on his mobile while driving further down the road.

Dash cams are great if your not driving like a bell end.

That's why I tell people to turns the speed recorder off. Your doing 32 in a 30 zone, some idiot wrecks your car - your evidence is no good.
People aren't as good drivers as they think they often are.
Dash cams don't automatically make people amazing drivers, or even in the right necessarily. I do understand the hatred for mobile phone abuse and poor attention though, but I'm not a big fan of new stasi approach to dash cam ownership.

A good example of where dash cams cams backfire -
Take this bell end, despite being obviuosly wronged by being pulled out on, however,
his reaction and observation times well open for criticism and could have avoided any incident ( with such poor driving himself in a different situation where say kids crossing the road you are talking about the making of a dashcam snuff film)

I bet he's never ridden a bike / anything other than a car - he must have been in his insular little world, about 4 seconds there between the L pulling out and him hitting it ! What a twonk !!

when a woman hit my parked car in morrisons and drove off, having a dashcam saved me over £ 500.

This is BS and you really shouldn't spread false information. There was no Mario Kart on the original Gameboy in the 90s. The first Mario Kart game to be on a portable system was Mario Kart Super Circuit on the GBA in 2001. Fake news.
