Nice. The AES in the manufacturer code means it has Micron E-die, which is almost as good as Samsung B-die and tends to overclock well.
Have this in my machine, great RAM.
Anyone got recommended overclock settings for this on a Ryzen build
Bargain. Good speed and good brand.
Heat added. 🔥
CL17? - I thought this only came in 3000 CL15 or 3200 CL16 flavor for AES micron e-die.

Indeed, will amend, thank you for that
Excellent price! I got these for £70 and that was a great deal so this is even better.
Are the cl15 aes 3000 16x2 worth getting? Or better getting sticks rated for 3600+?
Best performing 3200Mhz ram available - I know of folk who have these clocked past 3600mhz and much tighter timings than stated.

Thanks OP - first purchase for my son's Xmas present done
But no rgb, so you will lose 10-15fps straight away

Yep I have this very kit running at 3600mhz CL16 1.33v.

Also one of the big reasons I went for this was that it doesn't have silly over the top heatsinks so can fit it under a dark rock pro 4 cooler.
Got mine at 3800 CL16 @ 1.4v

What motherboard/cpu combo are you pairing that with?
What's the % gain going from a 2666 ram?
Got mine running at 3200 CL14 stock voltage. Nice, cool and fast

Depends on the die type, timings, use case, surrounding components etc. Could be <1%, could be 10-15%.

Overclocking hynix 3000mhz cl16 memory to 3600mhz cl16 (with looser overall timings) on a Ryzen 5 3600, netted a small improvement in my case. Up to 10% in benchmarks, and closer to 5% real world improvement in games.

My current is Kingston HyperX fury CL15 ddr4 2400 ocd to 2666 on a i5 6600k but I'm looking to upgrade to i7 9700k and would be using for gaming and cad work

At 1080p with a fast gpu, you would see marginal gains in some games. At 1440p less so.
Hardware unboxed have made a great video testing the 9900k, the bit from 7:30 on is most relevant. Ram speeds are more relevant to Ryzen CPU's where there's a far more noticeable difference between 2666mhz and 3200mhz.

Ah thanks for that. Yeah currently running dual 75hz and 120hz monitors. At some point in future would like to upgrade. But going pc upgrade route first with a 2070 possibly. May just keep my current ram unless I can make use of it elsewhere
Best stuff out there after Samsung b-die based stuff.

Something to note:
Do this basic bit of math when looking at memory, it'll tell you how good/quick the memory chips it uses generally are.

Take the cas latency, divide this by half the ram speed then multiple by 1000. This gives you the nanoseconds it takes to copy an 8-bit word into memory (the most common operation it'll do).

So
(cas-latency/(memory speed/2))*1000 is the math

(16/(3200/2))*1000
(16/1600)*1000 = 10 nanosecond ram chips.

The best b-die are 8.33' nanoseconds (3600, CL15), the "worst" b-die are 9ns. This being 10 - yeah, not bad at all. (equally, it's 10% slower... depends how you want to compare ). Use this bit of basic math to get a quick idea what stuff is "better" than what other stuff.

According to some brief research I did on the internet, 3600mhz+ is best for Ryzen 3000 series. Though as with anything on the internet YMMV.

Really I'm interested to know what the tech heads think about it.

The official amd rating for memory on something like a R5 3600 is 3200mhz.

Plus with the overclocked timings this particular ram kit can handle would make it a great match
Back in stock for now..
£99.46 now.
Damn increased price when i was gonna buy today lol

Probably shouldn't have waited but still bad luck
