For 3rd Gen Ryzen aim for minimum of 3200 and if possible 3600 for optimum performance. 3000 will work fine though.

Thanks for the heads up just tying to find out if the jump up in price is worth the extra performance gain haha

There is a lot more to performance than MHz in RAM. What's the point of high speed if the latency in plop and timings loose?

Exactly. Also, most people are going to be limited by their graphics card not their CPU/RAM (in terms of gaming anyway).

Yes. It's fine. Unless you have a beast of a GPU (and gaming)

Yeah well I have a GTX1070 currently and it’s a gaming rig so looks like I will be needing 3200mhz minimum

1070 is a great card but 3600 with 3000Mhz RAM -- especially if you tweak the timings -- is going to be more than enough to keep it chugging along. If you had a 2070 Super or planned to get one, *then* you'd notice a difference with 3200Mhz. Maybe. A question of future proofing I suppose?

I've got these and run them at 3600Mhz Cl14 @1.45v so you can try them..

With Ryzen 3rd Gen the Infinity Fabric clock precisely matches the RAM clock upto 3600Mhz if you leave it in the default 1:1 mode. This has a greater impact than the timings though the ideal would be low latency high clock upto 3600Mhz as long as your timings aren't complete garbage you are likely to benefit from the higher clock.

What is the difference between this deal and the product BLS2K8G4D30CESTK apart from AESBK being replaced with CESTK?

Would they be compatible and which would be the better of the two to get if I add some to the CESTK version?

Thanks

These have better timings as they are 15 vs 17 for the Amazon ones.

I bought the CESTK ones several months ago from an Amazon Overseas deal which was advertised on here. May have been the Spanish Amazon website. Probably bought them a little too early as better deals have been around in recent weeks.

It doesnt matter et all. I have used the 1660ti with 3200 and 3000 and it has no difference in fps et all if you are interested in gaming. The tests on youtube and review sites are done with a £500 processor and a £1000 GPU and hence they get about 5fps or so difference. For 99% users, there is no difference in gaming between 3000 and 3200 neither in average fps nor lows. So dont bother and grab what you find cheaper.
I love a good deal on a harmonica.
You can probably OC it to 3200 with mix of CL16-17
