Nintendo just announced this on their twitter as part of a 30th anniversary of the famicom system. 30p for this classic game is a steal.

"Also revealed is a promotion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Famicom in Japan, where each month until July one NES or SNES game will be available for just 30p.

The first title, Balloon Fight, is available to download at the discounted price from today.

Future titles coming in the promotion include Mario & Yoshi, Kirby's Adventure Land and Super Metroid.

Virtual Console games for Wii U are being developed specially for the platform, and will offer GamePad-only play as well as Miiverse support.

nothing i have read suggests it
Does anywhere sell the eshop cards other than Game online? It seems the best way to add funds is by credit card, but I've always avoided adding my card details to these services.
yes you're correct it was my error you DO get to keep it sorry for the confusion.
You buy it at the trial price of 30p and is yours forever.

so you dont lose the game in 30 days. its the price that is available for that amount of time until the next one comes up.

EDIT: just saw that you corrected yourself, no harm done

It's funny, I don't recall Nintendo ever doing a promotion like this on the 3DS bar the Ambassador program, that's different however since people payed a CRAZY amount of money for a console they lowered the price of in those months.

It's also unfortunate that this is ONLY for the Wii U, for 30p I'd have got it on my 3DS but hey, if you fork out 300 quid for a console with a lackluster selection of titles too, I suppose you deserve treats like this.

Good job Nintendo. (!)
Astonishing deal - and time for me to watch out for the next 30p deal. Great to see Nintendo making further strides in this area.

I've never ever played an F Zero game so this is a great chance to dip my toe in the water

why come into a deal about something you're clearly not interested in?
They should be this price all the time. £4.49 is ridiculous.
Do these games look better than on a pc with hq2x + super sai (Or whatever the current best set of filters is).

On the TV it upscales to 1080p HD, but the main draw of this is the gamepad, being able to play it as if it were a handheld version.
Annoyed that I still haven't got a Wii U (can't afford one), but I already have it on my 3DS and on NES somewhere. Hot deal anyway.
Gba games will be even better than the snes and nes!

That will be the case with the Wii U VC but my understanding is this is the Wii VC not the Wii U VC which won't launch for a few months. You can access the Wii VC on the Wii U

People who have transferred their Wii settings to the Wii U, or buy games on the Wii VC, will be able to buy Wii U editions of the games they own for a small fee. The Wii U editions will let you play on the Gamepad, interact with the Miiverse etc.

Presumably you can buy one of these games now for 30p and then get the Wii U version for £1, which is better than waiting for the Wii U VC and paying full price

nope this is the trial run for the Wii U: VC, the 30p games are available to buy in the Wii U Eshop. so these are indeed the upscaled versions.

EDIT: you are right about existing games from the Wii virtual console side though. for some games (N64 titles in general) will benefit greatly from control methods, seeing you cant use gamecube pads anymore.

also you can access the wii vc on the wii u via the wii menu, it still uses the points currency but the currency is non transferrable to the Eshop.

Would of happily bought most of the games on that list, if it were for 3DS as well Oh well, with an overpriced console and a lack of games I guess this is a nice offer for Wii U owners.

Hi, you must be new to HotUKDeals!
Soooooo want a Wii u. Looking like a fantastic console.

Or the full Nintendo Direct presentation - gonintendo.com/?mo…712
I think you only get the game at the trial price for thirty days then after which you can purchase it at the e shop price. (4.49) for balloon trip. I have watched that part of Nintendo direct a few times over now and im sure that's the way?

Apologies I didn't see this was an eshop thing, It's a bit unusual for the eshop!

The Cave comes out on the eshop on Thursday, I wonder if they've timed it to get people to spend some of their left over credit? If not it's a great way to get people to dip their toes into the eshop waters, it'll be my first eshop purchase probably along with The Cave

Edit: For those who have never played them I highly recommend Fzero and Super Metroid. Two of the finest games ever created. We didn't know how good we had it back then.

nope you buy it to keep. it is available for 30 days at the 30p price then it goes up in value
Bought, and glad to see Nintendo has a plan, judging by Nintendo Direct. Also bought The Cave - it's out today, not tomorrow.
