Ballycastle Irish Cream Liqueur PREMIUM £5.99 @ Aldi

First post so please be kind....

Ballycastle Irish Cream PREMIUM is the proper equivalent to Baileys at 17% ABV - doesn't seem to have any wine in it and is all spirit and Irish Whiskey. The normal Ballycastle is great and already makes HUKD often - this is even better!

Found today in Bolton Aldi - lots of them but does state "limited stock" on the cardboard outers. No idea if this is national but appears to have been from the Christmas line.

Have held myself only to one glass so far - but I am tempted for more!

Who buys cheap rubbish like this? Not being funny but imagine bringing a bottle of this out in company. Nothing says success like some cheap brand alcohol from a dump like Aldi, ha! Voted cold, this is not a hot deal!
Doesn't taste like cheap rubbish to me, tastes like Baileys, but then if you have to pay extra just to get the label you like, I guess you are blessed with the sort of friends you deserve.

We've done it, with Baileys, this and the Lidl one. The Lidl one was horrible once you'd tried the other two, between them, you couldn't tell the more expensive one.

Yes you can, you can taste the wine in it and has a more sugary after taste... an alternative though never the less, save you drinking the communial wine....

The premium one has no wine - hence my post!
its always this price, no deal.

@Avantime - fair point on price, but not often in stock outside of Christmas - and a heck of a deal as a Bailey's premium alternative IMHO!

This is a very good tipple - get it before you are stoned to death for drinking it .
Lol, if you live in Ballycastle itself (Antrim coast, Co.Antrim, N.Ireland)where this is alledgedly from or close to it as I do, the nearest place you can get it is in Southern Ireland, as N.Ireland does not have Aldi. oO
Currently have a bottle of this on the go & it tastes absolutely fine
Its nice stuff, they were selling it at this price before Christmas though and I think they may just be clearing out stock now.
Isn't this regular price for it in aldi or am I missing something?

Weird isn't it. I'm fairly sure this is made in Ballycastle aswell, James May and Oz Clarke went to the makers in their drink to britian show if I remember correct.
Don't people read the OP. this is premium version and not the normal stuff they have in at a similar price normally?

Will have a look for this and give it a try.
Premium stuffs not bad, much prefer merlyn though which makes Bailey's taste like toilet water, heat for the deal

The world famous Bushmills Distillery is literally only a few miles up the road, indiscreet marketing ??

You seem to take pleasure in putting down people's posts. Everything is cheap, rubbish and not worth the price in your eyes. Why bother with a money saving site like this when it is obviously beneath you? You must have some very shallow friends who would judge your success by a bottle of Irish Cream! This was the OP's first post, how are they going to feel with judgemental people like you? You posted on my deal about sandals last night saying they were cheap rubbish and not worth buying. If you had taken the time to look I got 2 pairs of Sketchers tone ups and a pair of Hush Puppies sandals delivered for a lot less than the Hush Puppies are in my local Brantano!
I wish you would spend as much time finding real deals that will help other members as you do being pretentious. The last deal you posted was 20 months ago which was free delivery from Argos - good grief, what would ones neighbours think if they saw an Argos lorry at your mansion?? Tsssshhh!

Just pour it into a 'Baileys' bottle and you or your 'friends' won't know the difference

Plenty of things are posted at RRP on this website. Some people don't realise that there are options like this available. There were so many supermarket own-brand Irish Cream deals posted over Christmas, but all of them were the cheaper versions that contained wine. I know a lot of people already know about this version but it is still useful for those you do not as this is a much better alternative to Baileys than the cheaper ones that were posted before

10/10 for the rant!
Nice stuff - was given flavoured 3 bottle pack for Xmas.

Mint Choc chic and caramel were both very nice...wasn't keen on the Choc orange..fake orange flavour.

Ooooo people do get very heated on here! Thanks for the post, recently finished a bottle of Baileys and wondered if the Aldi stuff was any good, even at £5.99 I wouldn't want to buy it and it be too grim to actually drink. Now I know to get the premium thank you.

Get well soon,pal.
Plenty in Cwmbran, I'd say around 50 bottles out, it's actually much nicer than I remember, bit thinner than merlyn but worth £6 easily
How many calories per measure....or bottle ....please help...
its carolans normal brew , if you look at the aldi regular one its 14.5% by volume comared to the 17% they sell worldwide , just sayin....
Ballycastle isn't as strong tasting as Baileys and has a nicer taste than Baileys and is better priced. It is not cheap rubbish at all. Ballycastle over Baileys any day.
