Synopsis
In Band of Brothers, Stephen E. Ambrose pays tribute to the men of Easy Company, a crack rifle company in the US Army. From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to the dangerous parachute landings on D-Day and their triumphant capture of Hitler’s ‘Eagle’s Nest’ in Berchtesgaden. Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company. Repeatedly send on the toughest missions, these brave men fought, went hungry, froze and died in the service of their country.

A tale of heroic adventures and soul-shattering confrontations, Band of Brothers brings back to life, as only Stephen E. Ambrose can, the profound ties of brotherhood forged in the barracks and on the battlefields.

Really good book if you liked the TV series.
Such a brilliant series and book ordered!! Th
Purchased, thanks @matwalaboy
Great book.
Isn't the book filled with fabrications and lies? In fact, a quick Google search turns up results of him lying about interviews with Eisenhower.

One glaring lie: Ross from Friends in the TV series (Captain Sobel). They made him out to be an idiot and a coward. Poor guy was neither of those things...
I’ve just started watching the tv series again. It’s just come back to Now tv.

Same. I'd forgotten how good it was. The book is a great read.

I didn't enjoy The Pacific as much, and the same for the TV series.
Excellent read. I can recommend several of Ambrose's other titles too.
Read it whilst in hospital for my first transplant. What a read.
Bargain at this price.
Awful series watch Lost instead

The book makes out no such thing though. The author specifically acknowledges the positive contributions of Sobel, despite what many he interviewed considered his shortcomings.
