Great speaker and good deal if you're flying out of Heathrow. Can't find it cheaper than £199 anywhere including Amazon. You can reserve it up to a month in advance and pay when collecting on the day of travel. Not sure if you get the same price if you don't reserve in advance.

Available in black and silver

Blimey! I've never ever seen anything cheaper in a duty free shop. Especially Dixons. Cigarettes and alcohol must be I suppose (I don't buy them, anyway)
Expensive price but a very good discount.....any one got one and can advise if it's worth the investment? I've got some Pure dotted around the house and a cheap UE portable I bought a few years ago, but tempted by this as I'll be flying out of LHR next week. Quality worth the cost?

Thanks

It's not duty free.
Which verdict (gives it a 62% score)
Should I buy it?
If you're looking for a Bluetooth speaker that's likely to survive an energetic outdoor lifestyle, few devices are as well suited as the B&O BeoPlay A1. However, despite the stylish design this speaker doesn't provide a flawless listening experience. If you're willing to spend big for a highly portable Bluetooth speaker, this is worth considering. There are cheaper options out there, though.

The top score in the Which? reviews is the Ultimate Ears Roll at 91%. They say a no brainer at £105. Gets very good reviews from users on Which?

Pros: Great sound, durable design, easy to use
Cons: Not as powerful as bigger speakers

My only issue with UE Roll is that it has no bass whatsoever so I guess it depends on the type of music you listen to and how loud you want it to go etc.

But, you can roll it. That makes it a winner for me.

OK, picked one up last Tuesday, was a bit concerned as it dropped off the website, but there were both black and silver on the shelf in the store (about five of each). Also signed up to the Heathrow rewards app, which gives you the equivalent of £30 back in vouchers or avois points if you spend £150 in one day so man maths mean this only cost me £110! Used it on holiday a bit and its very nicely built and had excellent sound, but still don't know if it's worth £110/140. First charge did not last anything like 24hrs, but only charged it on the 9hr flight and don't know what current the aircraft sockets put out. In sure if you bought two of these and paired then up you would have a great sounding mobile disco, but I can't afford two! Anyway, thanks OP and for the useful comments.
