Was casually browsing eBay and stumbled across this bundle. Whilst I may not own a G5, I'm very tempted to purchase the bundle just for the headphones (B&O PLAY by Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H3) which seem to be worth £100 at reputable retailers:

John Lewis: johnlewis.com/b-o….ds
Amazon: amazon.co.uk/PLA…19M
Currys: currys.co.uk/gbu….ds

You also get the LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O PLAY, which from what I can understand from LG's site can be used independently from the phone: lg.com/uk/…200 with 'other Android OS, iOS, Mac OS and Windows OS devices' though it just won't fit flush to the phone given that this is a LG G5 module.

Personally, I think that this must be a steal at £31.99!

Great price heat
What’s the g5 with b&o dac like as a he audio player? Anyone got any feedback?
how do you get this for £31.99 - i only see £39.99
Its a great deal but i wouldn't waste the 20% just on this.
DAC can work independently as well not necessarily for lg g5 only. Hot
I use the DAC on my PC connected via USB, its awesome.
Although I get annoyed with my G5, this will both complete my "friends" set (I already have the VR, 360 Cam, and Cam Plus) and provides an otherwise I-would-never-pay-that-much-for-them set of in-ear 'phones.

As such, heat & basket with the eBay code, and went through quidco in the hope it tracks an additional 5%.

You have to use today's 12-6 eBay 20% code of PNY2018. You can only use it once per account, as per the dedicated thread on this.
Just the dac seems to be worth around 30£ on eBay correct me if I'm wrong
are the earphones any good? compared to tennmak or piston?

does it come with the battery too?
People are selling the headphones on their own for £50 so saves you £10 even without the discount code from eBay

does it come with the battery too?

Don't think it does because in item description it says includes earphones and dac nothing about a battery
Thanks. Been on the fence about the dac for a while. Gone for it and picked up a spare battery for a fiver too. Just got to pray I never get bootloop now.
Use to own a G5 and the DAC, it sounded awesome when paired with the Tidal streaming service. These B&O earphones are also really good. This is a steal at this price.

The earphones are excellent.
I have no need for the dac (iPhone user) can it be sold on
Heat added - I bought the LG G5 this morning along with the camera module, thanks for sharing!

Hi can I ask where you picked up the battery for £5 from.
Bought for the earphones, why wouldn’t you? Thanks
Have the DAC convertor without earphones and is amazing quality musical output. Only downside is increases length of phone so had to source additional phonne case but well worth it.
I have this..

Ok some answers
Battery is not included.
Yes sound is noticeably improved although it doesn't have EQ features.
Size is a problem it extends it slightly which means cases will not fit. And without a case it's a slippery @#£_&@@.

I am not a fan of the earphones. They mimic the flat response of a studio monitor. Which is fine when mastering but not enjoyable when listening to music. I am not a basshead but the earphones are very flat.

I am someone who is active audio enthusiast and found the onboard audio perfectly acceptable with my own earphones and headphones.
And do not use my dac much as I would rather have a phone case than a DAC. Since most of the time I use my phone to listen to content and music in the car/waiting for things/shopping, or quietly at home I found the extra quality difference to be wasted generally. Especially when the onboard is pretty good, way better then any other phone I have tried.
Again my my own subjective listening and opinions.
You will have you're own tastes and hearing preferences.

£5.95 from a uk seller so less 20% just under a fiver
Given that I have a 'spare' phone that I keep at home on my nightstand would you good folk consider this a useful addition, given that said phone is static and doesn't really need to be in a case? TBH not sure I have that great a use for it but looks an interesting toy. My daughter can have the 'phones if I don't get on with them. More a proper headphone user.

Do you have any recommendations for earphones at a similar price range? Want to take advantage of this ebay deal to get some.
My in ears broke just today, thanks for posting.
Excellent buy and got the £8 discount as well
£110 on amazon for the earphones! Ordered.

Yes with an adapter. Don’t think the inline controls will do anything though. Im guessing you are just attempting to highlight the little known fact that iPhones don’t have a 3.5 mm jack though?
You're killing me OP......I just couldn't resist. Grrrr!
Damnit OP, I bought a set even though I already own these headphones!! Couldnt resist the bargain!
Are these earphones any good for hip hop

I've just sold mine. The upgrade is worth it you can really hear the difference between the standard and the dac providing you use good quality headphones.
Thanks, just ordered a set! Heat added.
Thanks!

You might be able to use the DAC if you buy a Lightning to USB C cable.
The DAC has a cap and turns into a standalone unit - it doesn't look like a dislocated lump of phone but becomes a pebble shaped DAC with a headphone jack that can be used with both micro USB and USB C devices. Only the USB C to Micro USB C cable came in my box, so you might have to pick up a C to C cable if you plan on using it with something like an S8.

You can connect this to a decent amp, plug your phone in and get much better quality sound than you get from built in DAC on most phones. It also amplifies headphones much more effectively. You can also use it with desktop devices. It helps if your device has qi charging as this doesn't seem to support USB C passthrough from the second USB C port, so you will obviously deplete your battery if you don't stick the phone on a charging pad while in use.

have bought on the assumption that USB will power the DAC permanently, without need for a battery. is this correct? (i'm going to use it as a USB DAC) thanks
