Please give us some concrete examples of how they've lost your trust. I've ordered about 15 things from them and received everything, including phones.

That is a good watch, Dustin rocks in that series. He plays the best parts, especially in series 2.

Please give us some concrete examples ....

I've also received everything - no problem in their dispatch department, it's their customer services I have an issue with. I bought a CCTV camera from them which turned out to be faulty. After giving up talking direct I had to open a dispute via Paypal and this morning I had to pay £14.90 to return the item to China so that I can get a refund.

Plenty of stories exactly like mine all over the web. Yes, you can get a bargain but you're stuffed if you have an issue. Depends whether you feel lucky I suppose..
OP - most of your recent deals are gearbest walkie talkies or womens underwear Anything you'd like to tell us?

Cable ties and action cam too... Hmm
Oh no - not more of these (potentially illegal) things. The air in South Wales must have another microwaves to cook your dinner outside!

Placed a order 9 days ago and it's still not been received even though it was 3-5 days delivery.

The site says processing but apparently that's normal...

What makes you think 3 - 5 days from China?. only stock in there EU warehouse is around 4 days. You are looking around 3 weeks from China.
Note these are illegal to transmit with unless either all users are Ham Radio licenced and your on HAM allocated frequencies , OR you have a UK simple licence and on those frequencies.

In this case you will almost certainly need a programming cable as well as out of the box they are preset to frequencies that are allocated to other services, notable Police and Fire services and Telemetry. You WILL NOT be able to hear Police or Fire services they use digitally encrypted radios, but you could cause interference to them.

A UK simple licence is £75 for 5 years for as many users as you wish, and it no more complicated than filling in a form and sending payment. There is very little excuse why you would not get one if you have a need for Walkie Talkies.

We have here :-

A sheep who is conned by the glossy Gearbest Website thinking all are great deals as they are cheap . Without considering VAT , Import duties , no warranty , no feasible way of returning etc ,etc ..
or

An HUKD member who has received one of those Emails :-

"Dear HUKD Member (SOUTH WALES )

As a valuable member of the deals community we would like to offer you the opportunity to earn money by posting our fantastic deals ....... etc etc .

Most members view these emails as Spam and report them to HUKD , you know it can only end badly

I only post items I am happy to purchase myself, I am also sure gearbest would rather I posted Items that are more profitable than the items I post. If hotdeals team wanted me to I would show them my gearbest account to show that the items I list I also purchase. I am sure they also already have access to my hotdeals mail box so could check there for any messages from gearbest. I am not interested in back handers, people that personally know me know that I am not money orientated. I have an interest in radios and in the past I have listed them from Amazon and eBay, are you also going to assume they were also giving me commission?

He has a point. We all know dodgy backhanders happen, I myself have been offered them by anker and the amount of the same item you post leaves it hard to believe that you buy them all or your house would be filled with this junk.
The companys want people to promote the lower priced items, chances are if a £500 laptop was posted they might shift one or two but lower items that are cheap impulse buys can shift large volumes of units.
Im not accusing you of taking backhanders but you look kinda shady, maybe have a week off for Christmas then hit the new year full of vigour for shilling gearbest junk.

Of course the low priced tacky stuff cant do any harm and is hardly profitable for Chinese firms such as Gearbest . If posted often enough they bring an air of normality to a Chinese seller .

Then when asked to pay £300 -£400 for a phone for example, the less well informed sheep may buy said item , not realising they may have to pay import duties and VAT , that they have no warranty or feasible means of returning etc etc as its a seller they recognise from its frequent appearance on this site

These Chinese sellers were banned for many years on HUKD for these precise reasons . Now its fine and Banggood , Gearbest , EGlobal Central, Toby Deals etc flood the site with their ultra cheap deals . Who wouldn't be tempted ?

Those members who are savvy enough to weigh up the risks , that's fine with me , they know the pitfalls and could well bag a bargain if the item works for a few months and they can set it up , root it or whatever (beyond me I freely admit ! ) and if it doesn't perform happily put it down to experience .

This site used to be a community where members helped each other and the MOD team did their best to help . We all used to try to give honest advice and the sheep maybe took some notice (or maybe not ) .

I think its shameful (now the Chinese sellers pay referral fees) that previously barred they are now able to incentivise HUKD members via dodgy emails to post for them . Even worse HUKD employees (Mods and Editors ) post their deals .

Ok we cant ban Chinese sellers for ever but surely to protect our less savvy members any "Deal" from a Chinese seller should come with the following "HUKD health warning "

This item ships from China /Hong Kong
There is no warranty with this item
You may be liable for VAT /Import duties prior to receipt .
If item is DOA you must ship it back to the Chinese seller (at your cost ) before a refund is even contemplated

Or words similar to that .

Is that too much to ask HUKD ? to protect its members - Our fellow members ? At the moment it seems so

No more than for almost every one of radio deals it should be stated that they cannot be used out of the box to transmit legally in the UK without a licence and will almost certainly need some configuration to use UK permitted frequencies.

Alas while no doubt while Southwales is fully aware of this by now they do not wish to add it to posts.

I will do this when others do the same for televisions. They could also state please note, You must purchase A TV licence before you watch or record Live TV. Or how about UK distributiors of more expensive ham radios refuse to sell the radios until they see proof of a licence to operate, lead by example.....

Any tv sale involves a licence check, the shop will ask your address and pass it on to tv licensing. A Uk amateur radio shop will ask if you have a licence they are all amateur radio users who don’t want to see anyone cause potential harm to the hobby. If you buy 5w radios from the likes of Maplin they even have the licence application form in the box.

You know a licence is required. Not saying so is misleading to UKHD readers who would then be acting illegally based on your not passing the relevant information on.
