I don't use the disc, just download chirp from the net and no problems, chirp.danplanet.com/pro…oad even though this comes with a disc it is still the cheapest way to buy the cable. How come you are still running windows 8, I took advantage of the Microsoft offer to upgrade two laptops to win 10, laptops are running quicker and everything runs quicker. microsoft.com/en-…)()

Do you have a construction plan for the loft aerial, or perhaps a link

Picture is side on but will give you an idea of how I connected the coax. Important that the outer coax core is Kept separate from the inner core, so on the antenna make sure the top and bottom cone wires do not touch.

Looks like it has been dropped from an airplane LOL, but it works great, was going to build another and take my time but this one works so good I don't want to disturb it. Each cone is 13 inches in height and 11 inches wide. The vertical wires were cut to 15 inch lengths and twisted around the copper circles using long nosed pliers. Important to get them tight so the signal/current flows without resistance, I guess soldering would be the best bet which I may do in the future.
