Went for a different jacket, but have some heat!
I have one of these and the only negative point about them is that the inside of the sleeves are lined with a different material which gives you really sweaty arms. If you have short sleeves under it, it's quite uncomfortable.
Been looking at this jacket for a while. House of Fraser has a spring20 discount and works out a few quid cheaper. Bought! Have some 🔥
Bought this jacket at Christmas. John Lewis didn’t have my size at the time so searched on line and bought for a lot less than John Lewis at MA Grigg. It’s still available at for £144

Great jacket though.

I have a Barbour Bristol which has exactly the same problem, very uncomfortable and a complete waste of money for me unfortunately!

Yeah and you are highly unlikely to ever receive it if you order from house of Fraser. Just take a look around at their reviews.

Ordered on Wed and recieved on Mon with absolutely no issue. My experience with HoF has been excellent and I wish them the very best for the future. People need to support British high Street retail - more so in the coming months when they are reopened. Much Spring / Summer stock has already been bought and although there will be bargains to be had, we should spare a thought for the people behind the scenes including floor staff, logistics firms, SME owners and yes, even the faceless corporates - all have families to support. Buy local. Stay safe. Oh - it's a great jacket too. Nicely fitted + great quality from a great British brand.

Do you work there by any chance?

If you look on Facebook, Instagram and trustpilot you can see how bad it is with them.

Why is it then that the complaint numbers were so large (many off people still waiting for a refund for stuff they returned in December) that they've stopped updating their FB and Twitter and disabled commenting on their Instagram?

You say to support them.... You think it's acceptable then to be waiting over 3 months for your money back like many people are? I've been waiting about 3 weeks now for mine back.

There's no reply to messages and hasn't been for a long time. Email address bounces and they don't have a phone number.

Add to that there's countless other people who have had problems with dirty and damaged items being sent, stains on t-shirts,

But alas everyone here on HUKD's who's posted about it, the 100's, yes 100's of complaints on social media. The 1.5/5 trustpilot rating, the 100's of reviews this year added to trustpilot (all negative), are all wrong because you were one of the 0.0001% who was lucky with their order?

Actually..... funny you say about Barbour being "quality from a great British brand" I've been buying Barbour myself for over 20 years now (it has nothing to do with HOF, Barbour just supply them). Several wax jackets from bedale to corbridge, tempest wellies to the merino cashmere scarves.... And I can tell you as even stated by Barbour themselves that very little of their clothing is made in Britain anymore.

In fact if your jacket doesn't say "made in England" in the jacket, chances are it's made overseas (I think it's Lithuania or Latvia).

No connection to HoF but we do have small family retail business & times are tough. I hadn't thought twice about buying from them even though M.Ashley + his band seem to be playing a very weird game & certainly the quality of goods in our local (Belfast) shop has gone steadily down hill in its relatively short operation - I can't think how, in the long term, the business can survive with current consumer trends, lack of visionary government policy and extortionate rates & rent, never mind the dire economic state & consumer spending power.

Saying that I had immediate response from the dispatch team, updated tracking and notice from the courier until delivery to my door this afternoon. All in all, excellent service. After your inital post (& checking trust pilot) I did feel some anxiety & regret - it most likely would have put me off had I read it before. Maybe I just got lucky as it certainly seems many people are unhappy - however it's hard to know what to believe online. They did a good job and I for one am a happy customer.

On Barbour, I wouldnt blame tham for sourcing a more competitive market to manufacture their goods - that's just business - and again it comes down to government policy & international competition. Fun fact - in the 1900's, Ulster had more linen looms than the rest of the UK and Europe put together - we're not still crying that China and India have stolen our industry. Barbour is still a great British brand with quality goods & I assume still with British designers. It doesn't really matter what the label says where it's made as long as proper QC, employee standards & business ethics are adhered to. Maybe in the future I'll buy Chinese designed goods, but for now I like to stick to British - most likely though the Chinese will swoop in & buy it out along with many other businesses that are wallowing in the aftermath of Covid-19. The jacket is a nice fit
