Too many caveats for my liking. Just a gimmic... May work for some people though who are planning on spending large amount in the first 3 months!

You're probably right, but I couldn't 'not' post it. lol
I went with AMEX's 5% cashback credit card (£20 quidco).

A lot of Amex cards have an annual fee and a minimum spend before cashback will be paid though. For example, the Platinum cashback card requires a £20 annual fee and a £3000 minimum spend. The likes of Capital One offer cashback without the fee or spend.

i am getting a headache already reading about the ifs and what ifs and i haven't even filled in the application form yet.

what a load of bullocks. also i note the annual fee kicks in after the first year. no thanks.

sent off the forms the other day to switch from my initial visa to this should get it next week

£3000 minimum spend? What happens if you don't spend £3k?
I got my cashback confirmed as soon as the card arrived (although it's not hit the bank yet).

Does amex offer the same protection for spending £100+ like MasterCard and visa?

I have no idea. I had a problem once with a product (bought with visa), they were less than helpful. Something I am currently pursuing.

This is also open to existing Barclaycard customers and for that reason is HOT
