cant comment on the wine but I really dont like these new age names for wines and beers Barefoot Pickled Hedgehog, Rusty Bedsprings. IPA Kinightly. tangleweed, etc etc . a lot of bottles are far too try hard with the names and labels , i prefer recommend a £3.99 Rioja from Lidl with an actual cork

I agree with you basically. However, the French have learned to their cost that complacency in marketing leads to a drop in sales. Sad but true.
Nevertheless, Barefoot Merlot is a cheap but well made wine. And at £5 it is better than many traditionally labelled wines of the same price.

fair point, its just that for my own taste a traditional bottle is far more pleasing with an appelation controlee or a DOC . and an actual cork. these garish modern designs featuring a skateboarding penguin etc dont cut it for me
a line drawing of a Chateau and a cork are far more appealing in my eyes and i prefer regional wine to varietals as I like to know where my wine is coming from . however I do appreciate that peopler have been trained to like new fangled things and perhaps even to prefer dumbed down products

Your welcome!
£4.17 in Scotland because they can't sell 6 for £25 !
Good £5 offer for decent mass produced wines from California (especially the Merlot and Pinot Grigio), shame that only the Barefoot White Zinfandel is in 6 for £25 offer
