at a guess i'd say no. being this cheap usually means theres no optical in or decoder built in so you'd need a dvd player that has 6 speaker outputs to use it.

Email Savapoint - according to the specs above there is no input sockets. How this can provide 5.1 sound without any inputs is baffling.......

As already mentioned, the cheaper surround sound systems don't come with optical in - however some can accept stereo and convert to 5.1 (ish).
