Just in time to catch the civil war!

Flights are with Ryanair
And the London ones are from/to Stansted - so the £10 fare is the cheapest part of the journey

It shouldn't come as a shock to you to know that immigration and security guys/girls are often stroppy because it's their job to be cynical. Them being Spanish has got absolutely nothing to do with it.

Went a month ago, immigration and security was no problem at all.

Barcelona is a fantastic city - would jump all over this if I had the availability. Worth it at ten times the price (which is what I paid then, incidentally).

Heat added, nice one OP.

He was probably talking in Catalan and you offended him

To be technical about it, I never said you did

Regardless though, no offence intended either way - I just thought it would help to point out that, indeed, them being Spanish has nothing to do with it - for someone who does travel a lot (and for which I consider myself lucky to do so) I can tell you that immigration security are indeed often miserable and I can't say I blame them.

The lesser amongst us though might find it very easy to stereotype them because of a small differentiator (such as say, nationality) when in fact it has nothing to do with it. And it would be a shame if anyone missed out on a fantastic deal for a fantastic city with so many fantastic people because of making such an innocent but silly assumption.

As I say, no offence intended.

Unless OP was entering the country during that half hour or so where Puigdemont illegally declared Barcelona independent, then I think it's still safe to say that Barcelona is part of Spain.

Predictable!

You're right. They never got over Franco.
