That is a good deal.

People who are voting cold are worse than Putin.

I'm really not a fan of Wychwood Ales, too fizzy, poor finish and bad taste. I'm guessing others think so too hence the chilly breeze.

Hope these are in my local store, perfect birthday pressie for my husband. Thanks

Poor finish and bad taste? I drink a lot of real ales and have always considered them one of the best bottled ales. Hot.

Can't believe this isn't hotter at 83p a bottle. I hope my local has some in.

Well, i drank most of mine in one night.. went back and bought another case.. yummy..' Poor finish and bad taste' ?? .. each to their own but i strongly disagree, and i think most ale drinkers would as well. Besides which, it's cheap as chips and there's 4 varieties in there.

Which store were these in?

got a box today and was just about to post this deal myself.

Very average ales, you wouldn't get many CAMRA members buying this. Having said that, it could be a decent deal for some out there so i will abstain

Half of the CAMRA members I met wouldn't tell the difference between 'world champion' ales and those in a blind test. Instead they just act like arrogant **** because they don't want to admit it.

A lot of CAMRA members have their heads firmly planted up their own casks
.....

One mans Ale is another mans poison. ...

Well I'm a CAMRA member and I am happy to drink this stuff, a stuff a lot cheaper as well. It's not all about getting the best all the time, its about preserving the very availability of a wide range of beers traditionally brewed etc. Preferably in a pub, but the Off trade has its place, unfortunately pricing pubs into closure. Cue arguments.
I spotted these but opted for Cider instead, shame on me.(_;)

I'm a CAMRA member....and rate Hobgoblin as one of the best ales out there......admittedly some of the seasonal ales like Pumpking are pretty awful but on the whole a very good deal.....will be looking at my local HB tomorrow...have some heat

12 x 500ml, or 12 x 330ml?

You mustn't drink many others then,as said wychwood are poor tasting weak beers with no body, they're a cheap bottled beer anyway

You can't go wrong at this price but having said that, I also feel slightly disappointed at Wychwood's range of beers except Hobgoblin which is undoubtedly a classic. Having said this, I've always thought that we still haven't found a way of bottling real ale and many bottled beers are pale shadows of their cask counterparts (Pendle Witch is a prime example). It was a shame when they reduced the ABV of the cask version of Hobgoblin - is it still brewed by Everards? They've been a staunch real ale supporter for many years and while they seem to have made decisions based on purely commercial considerations recently, they will still continue to be a mainstay of the british real ale scene. Get some bought Lagerboy!

It is 12 x 500ml bottles with a BBD of Mmay 2014....but mine will not last that long

3 x Hobgoblin
3 x Scarecrow
3 x Wychcraft
3 x Goliath

All of them? Really, all of them?

Ok you got me,I was talking about the likes of hobgoblin& the usual bottled rubbish sold by tesco, the stuff on that list isn"t commonly seen in pubs in my area or wetherspoons

Shame there's no King Goblin. That is easily the best of the bunch. Just a beefed up version of Hobgoblin really.
Is this national do you know?

Original Poster

Not sure if it's National.. I got it in Shipley.. And they still had stock today...I did notice the short date of May 2014 But if you are worried about that then why would you be buying 83p beers?

Picked one up locally today
Great deal. Cheers

on line they only show 8 bottles for 9.99????

That is because online it is 8 bottles of Goliath or Hobgoblin. This is a mix up of 4 different beers, 3 off each as stated in an earlier post.

Thanks OP - picked up the last one at my local. Heat added xxx
