Fopp in Manchester had the usual pile of bargains when I went in earlier today.

They didn't have the Monty Python £5 boxset which has been posted elsewhere but they did have the following:

Star Wars original trilogy (4 disc silver cover box set) £8
Mad Max Trilogy £4
Definitive Ealing Studios Collection - 15 disc box incl The Ladykillers, Kind Hearts & Coronets, Whisky Galore etc - just £7!!!
Spaghetti Westerns trilogy (Fistful/For a Few Dollars More/Good Bad & The Ugly) 6 disc set for £8
Baz Luhrman Red Curtain Trilogy (Moulin Rouge/Strictly Ballroom/Romeo & Juliet) £6
Planet of the Apes 6 disc movies box set £5
Saw Quadrilogy in 3D packaging £7 (as posted elsewhere)

Nice post! Will be checking them out this Saturday.
Hopefully they'll still have some good offers on
Cheers,

Just remembered, they also had the Exorcist box set (all 5 films) for £5 as well.

Fopp in Edinburgh had the Hellraiser trilogy in the silver sphere for £12 a couple of weeks ago

I'm getting the feeling that HMV are using Fopp to get rid of excess stock

HMV own Fopp now and I've noticed that Fopp seems to have a lot of deals about a month before they become available on HMV's website, so you may be right. The bloke who served me in Manchester said that Fopp has also got a lot of the old Virgin/Zavvi stock, and that is where a lot of the recent bargains have come from.

I Iove Fopp!

All of zavvi's stock was sold to Head Entertainment as I understand it - although I don' t know whether that includes stock from the stores hmv took over...
