And how much is it after the one year? For as basic as package as that you can get hosting far cheaper. I mean this is pretty basic. But if you're not tied in after the first year then its bargain ofc. Lifetime domains are usually if you continue to stay with them otherwise they charge you or you can't take it with you. Always read the smallprint

Any alternative web host recommendations?
Worst customer experience I have ever had, plus when you leave they bombard you with telephone calls

I've always found HostingFest to be good and cheap. They also allow .Net hosting as part of your package which is incredible value. Not had any issues and used them for the last 10 years.
For a UK hosting company with good prices and service look at Mythic Beasts. All sites include SSL in the price, from £2.50 (excl. VAT) per month.
They don’t use standard cPanel, it’s some horrible custom interface and I found a lot of other hosts won’t move you over for free from them because of it.

Why would you need to use a control panel to move data between hosts? You'd just SSH in, mysqldump then rsync - easy-peasy. 1&1 use Plesk on anything other than their basic shared hosting which is far superior to cPanel in my experience, and generally regarded as having the better GUI and being more user-friendly.

Cloud Above. Been using them for years small company but the support is amazing ( same day and normally instant if it’s priority via ticketing ) which for me is the most important thing ( Free SSL too ).

Yes, I understand where your coming from, but £5 a month isn't that expensive when you include the included applications you can install. Plus your always able to find new deals elsewhere and transfer your domains and website. You'll also get a good deal if you tell them your going elsewhere. I'm a networks engineer and you must understand that their servers are running 24/7 either way so they are desperate to have people keep their services with them.
Heat from me. Been with 1and1 / IONOS for quite a few years and never had an issue.
I used tbem for a bit, just to try out a few ideas, wasn't overly keen on user interface, but customer service was excellent I found

Follow these instructions to separate the website hosting and email hosting functions of Wix. You can then buy email hosting from GoDaddy or another company which provides email hosting e.g. Office 365, Google, Fasthosts etc. When you setup the email hosting you’ll be given an MX record which you’ll need to enter on Wix. This is basically a record which tells people who your email provider is and where to send route email. I hope I haven’t made this sound too complicated!
