When I click on your link it comes up as £209.

Have I gone to the wrong place, or have they changed the price.

Add the code WWPTV001BCP

My main concern with this is that it only has 512Mb of memory, but you can also use 128Mb of that for the graphics.

That leaves only 384Mb for Vista (and any programs you want to run) which is cutting it a bit fine.

If it is easy to add more memory then great, but that is even more money.

Nice screen
DVD Writer
looks ok as M520 is execute bit disable and x64 ready.

I think Hot

good deal, when you think how expensive laptops used to be!

How much would ram be to upgrade to 1gb?

Wondering if SATA hard disks. , need more tech specs

You get my vote its hot for the price as you say in your title basic laptop this is a good deal mate:thumbsup:

Can't find any warranty information, is the laptop brand new ?

I bought something similar in Dec. and it came boxed, brand new with 12 mths warranty.

I think it's the Acer Aspire AS5310

About £10/15..

I bought 2gb the other month and it cost me about £40.

So another 512mb stick would be cheap.

I'd add at least another 1gb and preferably 2 to it if that is possible.

Sold out now you have to be quick with bargain crazy and all the lurkers out there any on here manage to buy this ?

No they were worrying that the memory upgrade would cost more than the laptop! :whistling:

Always amuses me when people expect this and that from a sub £200 laptop.
Upgrading the memory will cost you £10, hardly earth shattering. If your so technically inept and blow the thing up, its cheap enough to go buy another...

Yikkeees! not another acer deal .:x

Does it ever occur to you all why they are so cheap?

It's a risk you take buying an Acer brand notebook, poor build quality, bad customer service and extremely bad repair service.

Darn, just missed this...good spot. bargain price if you managed to bag one. you would need more memory but thats cheap eanough

This is a another reason for a members area no one managed to get one on here SO WHO BOUGHT THEM ALL :x

Who bought them all? Duh, do you not think these companies exist very well outside of hotuk, and do not need every one from here to purchase in order for them to carry on trading.

A classic case of overbelieving your own selfworth

Good afternoon :w00t:

...probably ate too many easter eggs

Very basic low end spec laptop, but a very good price for basic computing.

Steve

I actually got one for my nan as she wanted one for very basic internet, etc. Thanks OP

I wouldn't run Vista on this personally... and not just because Vista is generally fairly ****
