Pretty sure this is just a new line not a hot deal.

Good spot though, not sure it deserves heat but I'm feeling generous so I'll stick some on just to say thanks for the heads up. Fed up with people dissing my deals eg the brilliant desktop PC offer £179 delivered hotukdeals.com/dea…169

I tried this and didn't like it. We love homous and different flavours but pesto is not nice.

Make your own, very cheap ,easy and lasts for a week!

Give this dog a bit of heat to encourage OP to post a few more ;-)

At least its a similar type of deal... Everyone who like humus also likes computers.

Not sure what's in the water these last few days, but I've seen this happen on a few threads. Maybe a multi?

Maybe suspended for their own sanity? They seem a bit too "enthusiastic" about humus and computer deals...

Wasn't he a Cardinal?

cheaper than 89p ?

You can make your own cheaper, though for practicality, you would probably need to make 3-4x the amount. Ideally using dried chick peas soaked overnight and cooked, rather than tinned for nutritional value as well as texture and flavour.

Certainly there is no contest in taste. Home made humous is far tastier - industrially processed foods taste a bit flat which is why they tend to add tons of salt and sugar etc - and you can tune it to your own tastes.

I recommend watching the tutorial by Delia Smith as a introductory primer - easily found on youtube. Then you can move onto more advanced techniques, eg using pestle and mortar rather than mixer, adding more or less tahini..

The basic method is simple though :

Mash up a tins-worth of chick peas and a clove of garlic into a paste with a little water.
Add tahini to taste (I like 2-3 tablespoons), lemon (1/2), pinch of cumin, pinch or two of salt.
Blend, adding a little water to get the right consistency. Taste. Add more salt if needed.

I've tried the ALDI humous. Didn't think much of it at all. Tastes a bit 'weird' in fact. If you are going to buy supermarket made - Waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco, in that order... The Waitrose one is pretty damned good in fact.

Ooops... forgot.. a tablespoon of *quality* extra virgin olive oil too..!

the hummus brothers - ronan and christian - talk about their new book.

...A dream was born: to open a place dedicated to hummus.

Having our own place, where hummus could be served and celebrated with imaginative flair, was our one overriding ambition from that day on.

We spent every spare moment in our small kitchen - cooking, mixing and caressing chickpeas to get that perfect combination of texture and taste.

Weekends or weekdays, before or after lectures - we just had to get it right. Little did we know how challenging it would be. After months of experimenting with different ingredients, countless tasting sessions and facing public scrutiny in busy markets (were you there? tell us), we finally got there. The recipe was a winner...

Now it was time to take Hummus Bros to the people...
