Never. It can outlive humans

Less than 50p a kilo, this is an absolute bargain. I can see all the indian restaurants stocking up for the year. Buy buy buy. Heat from me.

They'll be a rice to snap up this bargain...

Since it ends with 7p it is either clearance or short dated, so probably not national, good price if you if you can get it

So 7p is a code used by Costco for clearance / short code? Are there any other codes they use ?

Absolute bargain. I picked up a 10 kilo bag for £7.something from Costco at the weekend and thought that was a good deal, should have waited!

Thoughtful

It has long expiry Aug 2017

Considering it's a Costco users only deal it's not a HUKD which embraces the whole of the UK, but thanks for making us jealous.

Great deal, doubt I'd use that much in my lifetime but I can split it between my family. Thanks

quick copy/paste from an online article....
Yes. There is no doubt about it, arsenic in rice is a problem.
This may pose a health risk to those who eat rice every day in considerable amounts.
This mainly applies to people in Asia or people with Asian-based diets

use google and search for 'arsenic in rice' - it was auto-suggested when I typed 'arsenic', so must be a common search ? loads of search results for anyone to wade through

Oh dear....... stockpiling food for the mice, rats and cockroaches to feed on more like - and before anyone asks for a link to news articles, check your local area news and tell me there's zero problems or prosecutions thank you.

What brand is this?

Tilda is by far is the best

It may also pose a health risk to those who eat potatoes every day in considerable amounts.
This mainly applies to people all over the world or people with normal, everyday diets. It had been proven by scientific research that there are loads of calories and carbohydrates in potatoes. Hundreds of thousands of people all over the world are obese and will not live into a good old age by eating French fries daily with their burgers and deep fried chicken.. Use google and search for 'obesity with potatoes' - it was auto-suggested when I type obesity, so must be a common search? Loads of search results for anyone to wade through.

Wasn't this one but I have got some Costco cheqo basmati rice (think it was 5 or 10KG) and the quality has been very good. Nice rice!

Gonna wait for the 21 kilo bag to drop.

I imagine billions eat rice in China & India alone on a daily basis, over a period of years.

I thought I'd just throw that in for starters

ISIS are buying it up. I seen a guy with a beard buying 20kg of the stuff from Asda last night. Proper shifty looking. Biryani was the last thing on his mind

Stick to Thai rice Pakistan and India are having a big problem with high levels of lead and arsenic in their rice.
Not to mention the fields are flooded with human **** - if you knew how this stuff was grown and how it is contaminated
you would never eat it again! Cynical sellers are selling contaminated rice and they know it - just check your local corner shop for all manner of dodgy deals at great prices - why do you think the prices are so low - use yer noodle - nothing is for free without a penalty! Hell even yer noodle is contaminated - just google Maggi noodles contamination outrage! Stick to rain water and grass like the North Koreans do lol

Got a source for your "facts".
Everywhere I've read seems to suggest the opposite.

For example: authority nutrition says: Choose rice from the Himalayan region, including North India, North Pakistan and Nepal
Bottom Line: You can follow a few simple cooking methods tips to reduce the arsenic content of rice. Also that some types of rice, such as basmati and jasmine, are lower in arsenic.

Same with consumer report: Our latest tests determined that the inorganic arsenic content of rice varies greatly depending on the type of rice and where it was grown. White basmati rice from California, India, and Pakistan, and sushi rice from the U.S. on average has half of the inorganic-arsenic amount of most other types of rice

From ch4 dispatches: The countries with the lowest inorganic arsenic in rice that we have analysed to date are from African nations, with Egypt and Tanzania being studied in detail. These are not widely available in the UK though Egyptian rice can be purchased from Halal shops. The type of rice that is lowest in inorganic arsenic and readily available is basmati rice - from India, Pakistan and Nepal

Its not really about where your rice is from, as all rice will contain done some form of arsenic. Its all about portion control and how much rice you eat a week. If you have a balanced diet, it shouldn't matter.

You are sick and just shows how far you can go for showing hatred. Even in India, you will find almost same price for basmati rice. Even there is shortage and govt often blocks rice exports to fulfill demand. This rice seems to be from Bangladesh as it has no Hindi Punjabi written on it. I know you will do same respect for Bangladesh. Such a shame you making stories

Also maggi product issue was blocked by Indian authorities due to higher than legal amount of addictive substance. And who found it? They so offcourse they have laws in place. I thought uk has enough laws in place to keep dangerous food items in check and punish offenders. Did that change?

Leicester Costco didn't have any!
