2812390.jpgHi Guys . First time poster on this awesome website. So please take it on the hukd virgin
This is definitely a misprice on eBay Amazon and the website. So bag them whilst you can. These retail for £149 but in opinion it's worth half however at this price it's a absolute bargain. Please note shipping costs vary depending on where you buy.
This deal may not be for everyone but I can personally recommend this product having take delivery on Monday. I have used it to cut ply sheets and tested it on some metal angle profiles. It works really really well. The power is comparable to a good high powered angle grinder on which this it based on.
If you are familiar with rage evolution saw this is based on the same concept albeit in a smaller form factor.

It comes with a case and extra bushes which is a bonus. Please note grinder accessories such as diamond, abrasives or toothed saw blades will also fit this machine a adapter is supplied in the blown moulded case.
Lots of information and videos online. I'm no expert but this is perfect for occasional trade use or DIY use around the house.

Blurb below taken from the Batavia website.

FEATURES OF THOR MULTI MATERIAL PLUNGE SAW 1000 WThis unique multi material circular saw with special multi-material tray is suitable for sawing a large variety of materials. The well thought out ergonomics will let you guide this saw perfectly through any material such as wood, steel, non ferrous, tiling *, marble*, granite*, laminate, concrete*, plastic and more!

The Thor circular saw offers a wide choice of blades in sizes 100 mm, 110 mm and 125 mm. The bore recording is variable from 10 mm to 22.5 mm (M14). Flanges possible.

The cutting depth is adjustable from 0 to 42 mm (125 mm blade) and the blades are easy to change and adjust the spindle lock with allen. This saw is very complete and comes in a handy storage case including Multi TCT Saw blade 24 T, 24 T TCT saw blade, diamond blade, allen key, hose for dust extraction, parallel guide and guide rail set (3 x 40 cm) connectors.

* Diamond blade required for stone like materials

Not the same thing at all. You won't be cutting metal or stone with that guild tool.

I almost bought it but I've already got a nice Worx 85mm plunge saw. I also have a 185mm circular.

Its so hard not buying these tools. Harder than giving up smoking.

Might make a decent wall chaser, worth a punt

So offering a more powerful alternative different thing? That's your logic?

I guess you've convinced yourself and that's all that matters.

What are you on about ?? Where does my comment suggest it’s an alternative - it’s a saw it cuts things > for those that need to cut things my comment was for those that might benefit at the same time knowing the difference.

Obviously you were AND remain to be confused.

To be honest the guild saw is great value but it's a completely different tool. The guild saw will only cut wood and this Batavia will cut will cut many materials including metal and masonry. Every ones needs are different. I have a standard circular saw but I like the Batavia more due to is compact nature and power. Can some one tell me how to correct my typo ?

No, no reviews available online, suggesting it's quite a new product. Not too much of a gamble at this price - plunge cuts to 50mm so suitable for installing kitchen worktops and cutting holes in them for sinks etc.

I would have a search to see if spare blades are easily obtained before buying though - you don't want to be a captive audience for expensive accessories.
